Amnesty for Millions of Illegal Immigrants

Your Representatives, Annie Kuster and Chris Pappas voted in favor of granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. The bill gives amnesty without doing anything to reform our broken immigration system.

Each of them voted for H.R. 5038, the Farm Workforce Modernization Act.

How the game works

This bill creates a new “certified agricultural worker” status. Illegal immigrant agricultural workers would be eligible for the new status. To be eligible for this new status, individuals must be here illegally. The bill states eligible aliens must be “inadmissible or deportable from the United States on the date of the introduction of this Act.”

Once an anchor individual receives this status, their children and spouses can then receive “certified agricultural dependent” status. This will lead to a much larger population of illegal workers looking to receive amnesty.

First, they are granted the “certified agricultural worker” status. Then the anchor sponsors individuals and their families. Finally, all of the illegals would then have the opportunity to become lawful permanent residents. That provides them a pathway to citizenship.

Conclusion:

Proposing amnesty while the country is in the midst of an illegal immigration crisis is an insult to Americans. Amnesty rewards those who have broken the law. Offering them a pathway to citizenship should always be opposed because they have already demonstrated a blatant disregard for our laws. Economic need is a motivation to migrate legally. Are you in favor of amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants? Reps. Pappas and Kuster voted in favor for you.
