The Democrats have been after President Trump’s tax returns since before he was President Trump. It’s an obsession. Not because they care what’s in them. Their goal is to create a perception of what is there to attack him. A lower court ordered their release, SCOTUS said, hold on a moment.

We know that the actual content is irrelevant. Don’t believe me? Okay, Spygate, Collusion-gate, obstruction-gate, Ukraine-gate, the porn actresses, attacks on his free speech, there are scores of examples. They throw everything at the wall, and nothing sticks. Mostly because it is all made up. Butte Left figures the odds are in their favor. If they toss enough stuff sooner or later, something will stick.
President Trump’s Tax Returns would be a gold mine of media and left-wing foolishness. Or maybe not. Maybe there’s no there-there, and Trump is just f*****g with them. Either way, the matter is on hold. The US Supreme Court has ordered a Stay on the lower court ruling to release them while it decides whether or not to hear the case.
It may not. In that instance, the lower court demand would have to be enforced.
The question turns on whether the Supremes think this a worthy matter for their consideration. If so, we’ll hear arguments for and against open access to the tax records of elected officials.
Much like the Left’s was on Trump’s Twitter account, are they sure this is what they want? The Second Circuit ruled that elected official Trump cannot block people from his twitter feed if he uses to communicate pubic business. He does so he can’t. That precedent could now be applied to Jan Schmidt, Sherry Frost, and Wendy Thomas (where’s Rosemarie Rung?), here in New Hampshire. Elected House reps at least a few of whom have blocked taxpayers and voters on social media.
If Trump is ordered to realize his tax returns odds are good, this could apply to all elected officials based on a Supreme Court precedent.
Do Maxie Watters (or Ann Kuster, for that matter) want the public viewing every line of their tax returns?
They are in favor of seeing what the IRS has in the Trump file.
Get the popcorn ready. This could get interesting.
