Tulsi Gabbard is a Democrat. Lined up next to the rest of them she looks like a “decent” Leftist, but let’s keep some perspective. While we applaud her destroying Kamal Harris’ campaign in a few heartbeats, she is still one of them even when she goes after Hillary.
Yes, Gabbard is arming to bear after Clinton accused her of being a Russian asset.

Gabbard’s response was brutal and a direct challenge to Clinton to join the race. Presumable so she could take her apart on a debate state, which, thanks to Hillary, Gabbard will be on soon. Clinton’s attacks improved both her fundraising and polling.
And Gabbard’s lawyers are snapping at Clinton’s heels as well.
“In making the statement, you knew it was false. Congresswoman Gabbard is not a Russian asset and is not being groomed by Russia,” the letter said. “Besides your statement, no law enforcement or intelligence agencies have claimed, much less presented any evidence, that Congresswoman Gabbard is a Russian asset. This fabricated story is so facially improbable that it is actionable as defamation.”
They are demanding a retraction and apology on social and mainstream media. And I suspect they know that’s not going to happen. But you have to fire a few shots across the bow. Ms. Clinton just made you famous, and if you don’t keep your name in the news that polling and funding lift might dissipate.
It is a feud between the young new Democrat and the old…Ms. Clinton. The sort of catfight the Democrat party needs. It will never elevate Gabbard to the top tier, but it will do damage to Clinton. And everyone, indulging Democrats (at this point) seem willing to watch that show.
Tulsi is not just unimpressed by the Clinton legacy; she openly scorns it.
Great! Thank you @HillaryClinton. You, the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long, have finally come out from behind the curtain. From the day I announced my candidacy, there has been a concerted campaign to destroy my reputation. We wondered who was behind it and why. Now we know — it was always you, through your proxies and powerful allies in the corporate media and war machine, afraid of the threat I pose.
It’s now clear that this primary is between you and me. Don’t cowardly hide behind your proxies. Join the race directly.
All popcorn-worthy. And whether Clinton takes the bait or not, we get to enjoy the show, always remembering that Gabbard, while something of a potential far-left liberal killer, is still one of them. And while she won’t be at the ticket, and there’s no reason yet to put her on the bottom of the ticket, she still a formidable opponent who has managed to gain enough traction to stay relevant.
Someone like that with the beginning of a national campaign will be back. You can count on it.
