A formal proceeding would also entitle the President, his lawyers, and any Republicans access to documents, witnesses, and testimony. A vast improvement to the current scheme of hiding in secret meetings where they have undoubtedly laid out their sinister plan to unseat the duly elected president.
On some level, the Left thinks this is good them electorally, which is a stretch given the list of candidates they have to offer. So, we have to assume they believe that they can flip enough Republican Senators with deep state pressure or intimidation to make their show trial stick.
I don’t see how they get to 67 Senators. Maybe they think that can work for them to take the Senate and give them the votes to remove Trump after 2020, assuming all the Donkeys get in a row.
But this all plays out in parallel to IG’s illegal FISA warrants investigation and John Durham’s criminal investigation. And the left’s rage is so intense this looks a lot like another massive misstep driven by the far-left activists and donors.
Here in New Hampshire, both congressional seats and Senator Shaheen’s tenure are on the table. Trump barely lost New Hampshire. If this doesn’t go well, Trump wins a second term, New Hampshire turns red again. And Democrats get taken to the woodshed by the electorate.
With a potential Republican congressional majority and the wind at their backs, Trump could make generational changes in DC. More judges, border security, and the opportunity to keep a promise about the national debt that the swamp will hate.
It’s a massive gamble for democrats who are trusting what’s left of the media’s integrity to carry their water. That has not yet worked to their advantage in three years.
I’m not sure what they are seeing to make them think this is different. But as noted. I don’t think they see clearly at all. And that could be a huge win for liberty and America if it wipes out the left come next November, if Democrats impeachment grenade goes off in their faces.
