A prominent doctor with Johns Hopkins Medical is sounding an alarm about the current trend in medicine toward knee-jerk acceptance of the diagnosis of transgenderism. He calls it an experiment “on young people without telling them it’s an experiment.”
Remember when the Left went all-in on accusing doctors of unnecessary medical procedures to increase costs to patients and insurers? Why no outrage from the same folks about this?
Paul McHugh, a renowned psychiatrist from Johns Hopkins University, told The College Fix he believes transgender people are being experimented on because the doctors treating transgender patients with hormones “don’t have evidence that (the treatment) will be the right one.” He also criticized the manner of treatment given to many children who claim to be transgender.
A high percentage of gender dysphoric patients have mental health issues. Naturally. So, how does convincing them that they are not their biological sex address that? It doesn’t. Statistically, it makes them more likely to embrace substance abuse and suicide. It makes things worse. And these movements and the doctors capitalizing on them, taking money for reassignment surgery, are literally milking sick people for profit.
That used to be bad. We passed ObamaCare in part because of unscrupulous physicians.
But the Democrats are not just defending this they are demanding that taxpayers fully fund the scheme.
McHugh likens it to experiments with frontal lobotomies.
“I think their mental problems, often depression, discouragement are the things that need treatment,” not gender dysphoria, he argued.
“I’m not positive about this. It’s a hypothesis, but it is a very plausible hypothesis, and it would explain why many of the people who go on to have treatment of their body discover they are just as depressed, discouraged and live just as problematic lives as they did before because they did not address the primary problem,” he added.
You’d think the “party of science” and “treat mental illness” party would be the one putting on the brakes. Just the opposite. The question you need to ask is why?
If you don’t already know the answer, it has something to do with culture, politics, and power. And the Left is happy to permanently disfigure thousands of kids, even when merely half will try to kill themselves – meaning that was never the solution – to advance their aims.
