Environmentalists complain about the American diet. Left-Wing politicians pander to their narratives. But they also both see population control as necessary for “saving the world.” Is that why they are ignoring the 40,000 deaths last month linked to obesity?
Ignoring might be the wrong word. Disinterested.
Bill Maher, of all people, brought up the Democrat’s gun violence fetish. Yes, 53 people were shot and killed in August. But then he rolls out the 40K who died from Obesity in the same month.
“Fat shaming doesn’t need to end. It needs to make a comeback. Some amount of shame is good.
“We shamed people out of smoking and into wearing seat belts . . . shame is the first step in reform.”
Public health priorities, yes?
Maher does not appear to address why the Democrats want the guns, and that would go a long way to addressing his other concerns. Public safety has nothing to do with any of it.
- Gun control is about protecting the political class.
- Climate Change is about destroying free-market capitalism
- Wage mandates are about creating dependents of the state.
- Welfare programs are about keeping them dependent.
- Abortion is not about choice; it is racist utopian population control.
It’s not going to happen
They won’t bring back fat-shaming any more than they could condone therapy for gender dysphoria that promotes anything but the embrace of the dysphoria. Democrats don’t know or don’t care if 90% percent of the kids who experience it will settle on their biological sex. Nor are they interested in data that suggest an increase in substance abuse; or that four in ten who pursue (or are persuaded into) gender transition will try to kill themselves.
They do care who you love, but if it’s not their Democrat socialist government first, nothing else matters.
And so it is with every other thing that ends more lives by factors of ten or more than firearms.
The left only cares about you or your issue for as long as it benefits them politically. This is a strictly physical and prickly relationship with no future for anyone, but the political class and only a very few of you will ever be one of them.
If fat-shaming advanced their political agenda it is all they’d be talking about. Instead, 40,000 people can die and all they care about is 53 who got shot, most of them because of policies Democrats implemented in the first place.
