Did Planned Parenthood Just Defund Itself?

File this under dramatic irony. After another loss in court Planned Parenthood, the billion-dollar, private, global conglomerate, may opt-out of receiving TITLE X Federal dollars. Yes, they may defund themselves.

For months, Planned Parenthood has been battling a new Trump administration rule that bars taxpayer-funded family planning clinics from talking with their patients about abortion, or referring them to abortion providers. Planned Parenthood deemed the measure a “gag rule” and said it would pull out of Title X—the program that administers the funds—rather than comply with the new regulations.

The Ninth Circuit ruled that the order could stand, and the full court has refused to rehear arguments. Rather than comply, they may drop federal funding to free themselves from the limitation.

Anyone who thinks Trump is dumb is not paying attention.

Assuming PP follows through, and that assumption is based on the political value of the new non-federal money narrative (not any real concern for women or families or planning) this President checked off a vital interest of the right without having to convince squirrely, invertebrate, politicians to stand up to Planned Parenthood.

They don’t need the money. PP never did. The abortion mill spends millions on lobbying to buy Democrats and scare Republicans. If women and their “health care” were so important, they could invest their marketing and lobbying dollars to help them. Instead, they use it to buy the Democrat party.

Do they still need to buy Democrats if they opt-out of Title X? Hell, yes! They’ve got 50 states worth of weasels to whip who need to milk local taxpayers for their cash. And whipping costs money. But it’s money they won’t be getting from the Federal government. At least for now.
