Bill O’Brien was the next speaker (Speaker speaker??) at the Annual Picnic held by the Coalition of NH Taxpayers. He went from theme to theme and almost all of them aimed at the US Federal Ambassador to NH, Jeanne Shaheen. Remember her?
She killed off the healthcare insurance market in NH with her bill, SB711 – and then incorporated those principles into Obamacare. To me, Bill’s speech felt like a stump speech – spoken softly but with a hard meaning underneath:
She’s also the US Senator that directly overrode the duly elected NH Executive Council’s vote. When they didn’t approve a contract with Planned Parenthood of NE she threw her weight around “steered” Federal Funds PPNE’s way.
So much for standing up for the sovereignty of “the various States” that created the Federal Govt in the first place. As well as the fundamental principle of vertical Federalism between the Feds and the States, eh?
So much for trusting the votes of the NH electorate who put those Executive Councilors in their offices, eh?
That action only showed she’s not for NH values but only about Progressive Principles (by any means possible to aggregate Power as high and far away as possible (think Hunger Games?)) instead of Constitutional ones.
