From One Socialist to Another

The issue

Even after the release of the Mueller report’s findings, 84% of Democrats remain unpersuaded. So why investigate something if we are not going to accept the results of the investigation? Why spend tens of millions of dollars, and waste two years of 60 people’s lives if we are not going to accept the result of the investigation? When the entire legal team comes from the Democrat party why is it reasonable for Democrats to not accept their findings?

The belief

Why get all caught up in whether something is true or not when the fantasy is so much more appealing? The only answer that makes sense is that today’s Democrats worship politics as religion. They believe what they want to believe as an act of faith. The Democrats have detached themselves from need for fact, embraced the dogma of their religion and find no use for reason. They have traded the pretense to liberalism for socialist utopia.

That seems to be the situation on the left in light of the results of the report by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The Special Counsel report found no collusion between Russia and President Donald Trump. You’d think that might have slowed their roll. They have spent most of the past two years shouting about a falsehood as it turns out there was no collusion. But, you’d be wrong.

The fact that President Trump has been tougher on Russia than his predecessor ever was makes no difference to Democrats. Commonsense seems abandoned. How is continuation of the charade benefitting America? Continuing in the false messaging is the rule in Democrat politics, not the exception. Conspicuously missing from our public discourse are apologies to a man who literally has taken on the toughest job in the world and donates his salary.

Much of the country seems unaware what the findings of the Mueller report are. A Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted after the report’s findings were released, found that 48% of Americans still believe that “President Trump or someone from his campaign worked with Russia to influence the 2016 election.” Among Democrats, it’s clear wishful thinking, not evidence, is carrying the day as 84% still think this is true.

Tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it

It turns out; two years of wall-to-wall media coverage, often based on anonymous sources, that Trump was working secretly with Russia can’t be undone easily. The media coverage has been heavy, continuous and often unfounded. Media Research Center’s NewsBusters reported: ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts produced a combined 2,284 minutes of ‘collusion’ coverage … that’s not counting the time MSNBC or CNN spent on it. That’s an average of roughly three minutes a night, every night, for 791 days. That level of coverage normally is associated only with a major war or a presidential election.

To underline the point it wasn’t just TV. Axios reported, “Since May 2017, 533,074 web articles have been published about Russia and Trump/Mueller,” citing data from NewsWhip. Apparently, it takes a while to realize that something you heard repeated and repeated for two years, everywhere and all the time, isn’t actually true.

Like National Socialist Joseph Goebbels said, “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it… It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Conclusion

It’s time for the media who indulged this story without evidence continuously, to own their error. They should make clear what the truth is. Don’t the Democrats believe in the doctrine of equal time? If they did they wouldn’t they be giving Trump a couple of thousand minutes of positive coverage over the next two years and printing a half million positive stories about him. Isn’t that what consistent application of what their fairness doctrine requires of them?
