Why do you ask?
The Minnesota Democrat congresswoman has been in office since January. In that time she has piled up an impressive record of anti-Semitic utterances. Most recently she accused American Jews of dual loyalties. The House was set to pass a resolution that condemned Omar for her stream of anti-Semitic speech and hatred of Jews. But then… sausage happened.
What the House ended up passing was watered down. It does not convey the gravity of the offenses. The censure resolution came out condemning hatred against “African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and other people of color, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, the LGBTQ community, immigrants, and others with verbal attacks, incitement, and violence.” It condemns eleven things; ten of which she did not do. That is called distraction, obfuscation, misdirection, and hiding the facts.
Is this one individual or is it symptomatic?
The current roster of representatives and senators make up what may be the most anti-Semitic Congress America has ever had. Clearly, the Democrats have turned their back on Jewish voters and Israel. There have been plenty of anti-Semitic rationalizations and counterattacks of Rep. Omar’s remarks. Heck, Speaker Pelosi and Whip Clyburn even aided in mitigation of Rep. Omar’s remarks.
Representative Ilhan Omar is an anti-Semite. New Hampshire’s Congressmen should stand up and demand a separate resolution for Omar’s anti-Semitic remarks. One that addresses what she has said; not one that deplores hate in general terms. Certainly, all hatred is unacceptable. But that isn’t the point, is it? That’s not why the resolution was initiated. When a person exhibits a propensity for targeting one particular group, trying to gloss over that specific behavior by use of distraction and obfuscation, is failure to meet the matter head on.
Worse yet, Rep. Omar is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee a committee. The committee deals specifically with Israel and her enemies. The Democratic leadership has refused to remove her from the committee. That is beyond insensitive; it is poor judgment. It is right up there with the outsourcing the Democrat IT need to the Pakistani used car salesman; right Rep. Wasserman-Schultz?
The Democrat Party made Representative (Keith) Ellison deputy chairman of the party. They had to know that Ellison has stood with our nation’s leading hate monger Louis Farrakhan. Did it matter? If the shoe was on the other foot and the Congresswoman was on the receiving end instead of the giving end of such hate what would the response be?
The Democratic Party is currently betraying the values the party once stood for: American values. The Democrat Party proved with their non-chastisement chastisement of Omar that they are not concerned about this sort of thing. Representatives Kuster and Pappas where are you? Why aren’t you touting how you voted for the non-chastisement chastisement of Omar?
