Quick Shot: Killington Could Have Skiing Until June (again)

Got a call from someone (Skip) who shared a report from WBZ News (radio) out of Boston. They are rattling off ski resorts and those that are open. Killington could have skiing until June. June? Didn’t Jeanne Shaheen promise us that human impact on climate would impact snowfall and skiing?

“This isn’t just an environmental issue for our state, it’s an economic imperative.  For a state where tourism is our second largest industry, we simply can’t afford to lose our ability to offer snowmobiling, hunting and fishing, or our first-rate skiing – a $650 million annual industry alone.

Killington is in the People’s Republic of Vermont but we share most of the same weather. And they are no stranger to late spring skiing.

Even ten years after Shaheen’s apocalyptic pronouncements.
