Lost in the NH Democrat Party’s Lunatic Lurch to the Left … State Senate Republicans Have Been Leftward Lurching Too

This:

Let that sink in. Every Republican State Senator, but one, voted to make Obamacare the law in New Hampshire.

Obamacare.

And don’t be fooled for a second by the term “essential health benefits.” That’s just a wonderful euphemism for mandating that people purchase various insurance coverages whether they need or want that coverage.

More specifically:

So, for example, even though you are well past your child-bearing years, Republican State Senators think it is ESSENTIAL that you have insurance coverage for pregnancy.

These mandates are part of the reason why insurance is so expensive.

CONSUMER: Hi, I would like to purchase a policy that does not cover things that I won’t need like pregnancy and maternity coverage and pediatric services, and I would prefer not to cover for substance abuse services.

HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY: Sorry, we’re not allowed not to sell you those things.

So much for really believing in limited government and the free market. Just punch lines to the Republican State Senators.

And that’s not all. The GOP State Senators also support AOC’s Green New Deal:

March 29, 2019

CONCORD, N.H. – The New Hampshire solar energy industry received a major boost yesterday when the state Senate unanimously passed a bill that would expand the use of solar power.

Senate Bill 159 increases the amount of electricity that public utilities must accept from private producers of solar energy – a system often referred to as “net metering” – from one megawatt to five megawatts.

The utility has to pay for the electricity at a cost higher than what it would cost the utility to produce that electricity. This results in solar users getting billed less for the electricity they draw from the grid than non-solar users. In other words, net metering forces the utility to subsidize solar.

Of course, just like any business, the utility passes on its costs to the consumer. So it is non-solar consumers who are forced to subsidize solar.

Net metering is the antithesis of limited government and the free market. It is the government picking winners and losers. It is Green-Pork.

Yet every single Republican State Senator supported SB 159.

New Hampshire’s GOP State Senators have more in common with Obama and AOC than with Calvin Coolidge and Ronald Reagan.
