Remember Justin Fairfax? Virginia’s Lt. Governor is twice accused of sexual assault. Democrats running for President have told him he should resign. #MeToo, and all that. Democrats all over the place wanted him to step aside. But Fairfax said no. He continues to claim his innocence and likens his situation to an old fashioned lynching. A rush to judgment with no due process.
“And we talk about hundreds, at least 100 terror lynchings that have happened in the Commonwealth of Virginia under those very same auspices. And yet we stand here in a rush to judgment with nothing but accusations and no facts and we decide that we are willing to do the same thing,” Fairfax added.
It’d be damn curious if that philosophy were to catch on with Democrats as a party. It’s not exactly their style. Not then and not now. They’re quick to accuse and demand. Due process is for wimps. Public lynchings are at the top of the do list every day. And they apply to anyone who might get in their way politically, even Democrats, though rarely.
Still OK to “Lynch” Republicans?
Mr. Trump got lynched for locker room talk. That gave us the Women’s March. And that spun out of control into a discussion about the Left’s inherent problem with anti-Semitism.
Proving Russian Collusion continues to be something Democrats need ‘to do.’ Mueller’s report will not justify years of lynching Mr. Trump by the Democrat Machine. Some problems have however come to light about Hillary, Obama, and a cast of partisans inside the DOJ and FBI, some of whom may go to prison. Some of whom have collusion issues all their own.
Brett Kavanaugh was pilloried, smeared, threatened, insulted, and accused by sitting US Senators in a public hearing (the press and millions of Democrats. The (D) does not stand for Due Process. But that fake outrage probably cost the Left the US Senate in 2018.
And the Virginia blackface scandals seem to have wound down leaving Fairfax to manage his accusations. But at its start, Gov. Northam enlightened the nation to a rather cavalier attitude among Democrats about the value of human life at birth. Gov. Cuomo helped. As in, it doesn’t have any value. Most American’s disagree.
So, maybe this due process thing will catch on. Doing it the other way has not been productive.
What am I saying? These are Democrats openly embracing socialism as the cure for what ails America. That would be the Constitutional Republic that constrains them with rules like free speech, religious liberty, the second amendment, and some other tyranny inhibitors like due process.
They want to shut you up and lock you up. So, don’t get used to this. It’s just a phase.
