Civilian Disarmament bills: Progressives don’t care about results, only intent

by

HB101 and HB564 have to do with gun restrictions in school zones (or as I call these kinds of bills the Second Amendment’s death by a thousand cuts). NH Rep Sharon Nordgren’s testimony was reading a letter from a bunch of Progressives (and remember, Progressives is just a focus group redo of “Socialists”). This gave us ALL a prime example that only intent means anything to Progressives, not actual results. Listen to her full testimony:

Now, go back and listen starting at 4:54 of the clip even though I transcribed it:

“Just as an aside, I will also say that I was the prime sponsor on the drug free school zones bill many years ago and I think this is even more important than that.”

Hmmm.  So, she boasting about creating a bill that was put into law to fight a problem.  Ok.  The problem is, how EFFECTIVE was that bill?  How expensive has it been to actually implement?  Has it been widely used?  And more importantly – has it accomplished its stated goal of making schools drug free?

I think that the answer to that latter question is a loud NO. But it does make them feel good and they can go back to their constituents and proclaim “See what a good legislator I am?  I did something to keep the children safe!”.

And the problem of drugs in schools is just as large now as it was then.  Bill passed, problem not solved.

My point is not to pick on Nordgren (hope her arm feels better soon) but to pick on Progressives for thinking and working like virtue-signaling is all that is necessary like this:

as if simply holding up a sign on some social media platform is actually going to do something. Which in that case, resulted in:

No, a duly passed legal bill is not the same as what Michelle did.  However, if a bill isn’t going to solve the problem it is purported to do, of what use is it?  In this case, HB101 and HB564 are not solving any problems except for the Progressive unstated one: we want to disarm you all, one slice at a time if that is what it takes.

HB101 is a first step to a jungle of disparate, often opposing, and de facto unknowing what the legal rules are in NH.  Criminals will ignore it (something that these gun-grabbers and anti-Second Amendment grifters will not admit to EXCEPT for the very few that would be honest) – they are criminals, by definition, because they ignore the law.  The only ones hurt are we Normals – and we are the Progressivess’ actual target.  How can I say that?  If it can’t accomplish its purpose, to stop those that would hurt or kill innocents, why bother with it?

And we’re back to two simple truths – virtue-signaling and hurting those that are law abiding citizens.  Progressives hate the content and value of the US and NH Constitutions – and instead of going about it the right way to change them, they will do anything they can to go around it.

Even when, like the drug free school zones, their stated “purpose” will fail – utterly.

Thank you, NH State Representative Sharon Nordgren, for pointing that out.

Again.
