New Hampshire Democrats Move to Eliminate Due Process Rights for Granite Staters

New Hampshire Democrats backed by massive amounts of money and influence from out of state special interests want to eliminate your right to due process. They’d like to empower anyone with a phone a pen and the inclination to send armed officers to your home to take your stuff.

New Hampshire has two Extreme Risk Protection Order bills in the pipeline. Both serve one purpose and one purpose only. They want to bypass due process to disarm law abiding citizens.

Yes, they claim to be about protecting law-abiding gun owners from harming themselves or others but let’s be honest. Democrats do not care about people more than care about gun confiscation.

HB687 would allow a spouse, family member, an angry ex, or any random anyone to drop a dime on you. That includes irritated Democrat House Reps who are upset that you’ve exposed their unconstitutional gun-grabbing in other forms. Anyone with a grudge or an ax to grind can call the cops. All they need to do is be convincing, and they may at some point need to sign an affidavit.

If you think signing an affidavit will serve as some sort of deterrent to a sweeping elimination of your due process rights consider that thousands of leftist out-of-state residents sign affidavits every election before stealing your votes. As political hits go, that’s a low bar for a majority of anti-gun leftists, especially in the current political culture.

Before the Sun Comes Up

Armed men arrive at your home. Probably in the wee hours of the morning. They wake you up in your jammies. They wake up your dogs, your family, to toss your home and remove all your firearms. If you are reluctant or resist, they can arrest you or shoot you. Maybe they shoot your dog if he or she resists.

Over what?

The whim of gun-grabbing malcontents who have decided they don’t like you our your constitutional right to self-defense. No actual threat to anyone’s actual safety is required.

Two Bills To Rule Them All

The second bill is HB696. It specializes in disarming law-abiding senior citizens or “vulnerable adults.”

HB687 and HB696 assume guilt before innocence. They enact penalties before due process. Even under the best of circumstances, the ‘accused’ is forced to engage a lawyer and endure the loss of professional and personal time (and money) to convince a judge that they should have their property returned. That they are entitled to the constitutional protections of the second amendment.

The return of your property, dignity, and reputation is not guaranteed.

And to the best of my knowledge, there are no stipulations that allow the accused to sue the ever-living-s**t out of anyone who falsely accuses them as an act of personal or political retribution.

While we encourage you to attend a hearing or contact your legislators, rubber-stamp leftists will take any excuse to pass these laws. We do not have the votes to kill either bill. Only Governor Sununu stands in the way. If they cannot be stopped in committee on the floor, the Governor has to veto these bill.

We have the votes to uphold a veto, but your Reps will need your support to sustain them.

Make a phone call of your own. Tell your State Rep to oppose HB687 and HB696. If that fails, call the Governor and ask him to veto these bills. Then make sure you have his back.

HB696 will probably be voted on in the New Hampshire House Today

HB687 has a scheduled public Hearing: 03/05/2019 10:00 am LOB 204
