Bernie Sanders has announced. He is running for President. Sorry, he isn’t JUST running for President. “Our campaign is not only about defeating Donald Trump,” the 77-year-old self-described democratic socialist said in an email to supporters. “Our campaign is about transforming our country and creating a government based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice.”
As a quick reminder, the goal of democratic socialism is communism.
The ‘Promise’ of Our Shared Future
Two days ago I wrote about a student of Economics (who studied at UNH) promoting the Southern New Hampshire Democrat Socialists of America. If you visit their “about page” and click on their story, you get this.
We are socialists because we reject an economic order based on private profit, alienated labor, gross inequalities of wealth and power, discrimination based on race and sex, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo. We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane social order based on popular control of resources and production, economic planning, equitable distribution, feminism, racial equality and non-oppressive relationships.
Sanders is not alone among the 2020 Democrat candidates. They all buy-in to this. What Southern NH DSA calls the, “push for shared ownership of power and resources.” That’s communism.
To get they-ah for he-ah someone other than you has to take ownership of power and resources. That would be the government controlling everything. There is no other path to this ‘shared’ outcome.
And there is no version of this that doesn’t end in a two-class system where the majority of us exist in a shared misery under the boot of a police state. You can’t force people to share everything without one.
That’s Bernie and if they are honest most if not all of the Democrat Party.
Everyone else needs to remember that when Sander’s and Democrats claim to support “economic, social, racial and environmental justice, they mean loyalty to the Party in everything. Which under socialism and communism means loyalty to the state.
Any deviation from this devotion comes with consequences.

We believe that such a strategy must acknowledge the class structure of American society and its basic conflict of interest between those sectors with enormous economic power and the vast majority of the population. Socialism is not a scary word. It is the logical, emancipatory successor to the barbarism of capitalism. We work in our own communities to transform New Hampshire’s conception of socialism and the possibilities of our home through concrete, collaborative organizing and activism. Through a multilateral approach we seek to collaborate with all types of activists and achieve material gains for vulnerable communities here at home. Members come from every reach of the granite state. Our differences in experience fuel our ability to achieve our shared vision – a radical expansion of democracy in all spheres of life.
