Can’t say Obamacare, can he? Or they? They’ll still keep referring to it as “Affordable”. As Obama is still saying, an Obamacare healthcare plan CAN be less than your phone bill – yet unless someone else is paying for it for you, costs have skyrocketed since 2010. But it is their talking point, have never given it up as a talking point, and the GOP has no ready answer for it because WE DON’T MAKE WAVES (or sense, for that matter. Heck, they can’t even stick to their own Principles, forget enumerating on the fly).
So, the tactic will be exactly as we Conservatives said it would be: “how DARE you take something away from people that we “gave” them (regardless that you had to take from others to pay for it)?? People will DIE!!!”.
And the next tactic will be, if the Republicans can get their collective heads out of their butts and actually use it, is distraction from “and now the folks that used to be able to afford heath insurance can’t and they are STILL paying for those subsidies”. That is, if they actually could figure it out, the GOP would be Alinsky’ing them over and over and over again but STUPID PARTY who can’t message well enough to save wheelchair bound Grandma from being pushed off a cliff by a Democrat.
This is an eminently winnable issue for Republicans. It will be rather cute to see if they can figure it out.
Or, typically, not. You see, the GOP has not realized the message in the image above – Obamacare is their worst enemy The Republicans PROMISED, for 8 years, that they’d repeal Obamacare if we gave them the House, Senate, and Oval Office. And they had two years to kill it and get rid of it. They couldn’t get it done – and looked weak, unorganized, and unwilling to to stick to both their promises and the underlying Principles for those promises.
We did – they didn’t. They didn’t learn. So the Dems did the logical and rational thing and RAN on “Obamacare good, GOP nasty for trying to take it away” and beat them. You kept a campaign issue alive for them, didn’t you. You couldn’t help yourselves and push healthcare back onto more of a Free Market basis.
Old and stale: “Read my lips”.
New and hotness: “We’ll Repeal Obamacare!”
Yeah, Consistency. They didn’t learn from history and are now condemned in repeating it.
