The Democrats want complete civilian disarmament such that only The State has the ability to utilize Force. So they pass law after law to make that happen because SAFETY AND SECURITY! Which of course, the rest of us know will never happen. Of course, these Safety folks have no regard for the flip side: Rights and Freedom. Which, I point out, they don’t care about. And yet, this happens (reformmated and emphasis mine):
Of course, watch the meltdown when you point out that the state with the most strict gun control had it’s already high homicide rate jump up nearly 18 percent from 2014 to 2016. California, a state with every gun control imaginable, witnessed an 18 percent rise in firearm homicides from 2014 to 2016. This rise in firearm homicides comes despite the fact that Democrats, gun control groups, and the establishment media constantly claim that states with the strictest gun controls see lower rates of violence and death.
Ayup – the thought of “mice and men” streams through my head at this. And yet, it is never enough. EVAH!
It’s like when Socialist keep yammering that “the right people haven’t implemented Socialism” and never pay attention to the death toll it leaves in its wake and so just keep trying by promising “free stuff”. So, too, the anti-gunners: “the NEXT law will be the one that works!”. And so it continues without ever recognizing the obvious:
Despite all the stringent gun controls a bill filed by Assemblyman Marc Levine (CA-D-10) admits California firearm homicides were up between from 2014 to 2016. The bill says, “Although California has the toughest gun laws in the nation, more effort is necessary to curtail gun violence. The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation found that from 2014 to 2016 gun homicides increased 18 percent.” In light of this gun control failure the language of the bill goes on to suggest more gun control.
This despite all the gun laws the state has?
Oh, by the way, if you haven’t noticed, they anti-gunners have figured out that “gun safety” is now as toxic as “gun control” – the new phrase is “gun reform”.
Reform, you say? In what way you ask? Naw, no reform at all – same old tactics, same tired arguments, and certainly the same old result. And they never want to admit the obvious:

“…2% of counties have 51% of the murders” – why not figure out why just a small number of counties are like that? Oh yeah – see where those counties are located. Better, see what’s in those counties…In 2014, the murder rate was 4.4 per 100,000 people. If the 1% of the counties with the worst number of murders somehow were to become a separate country, the murder rate in the rest of the US would have been only 3.4 in 2014. Removing the worst 2% or 5% would have reduced the US rate to just 3.06 or 2.56 per 100,000, respectively.
And that would basically hollow out the anti-gunner argument.
