by Michael Yakubovich
It is with great pleasure that I announce my candidacy for New Hampshire State Representative from Hooksett (Merrimack 24).
I live in Hooksett with my wife, Marika, and son, Max. We also have a daughter in college. Professionally, I work as a computer engineer and have a master’s degree in computer science.
Family and education are important to me, which is why I am involved in the Hooksett community as an elected member of the budget committee.
Originally from the Soviet Union, I have long cherished the American ideals of freedom and natural rights, which is why I chose to come to this country, and in 1995 became a US citizen. Only through hard work was I able to build a life, a career, and a home here.
We embrace and celebrate the New Hampshire values of liberty, community and family.
But, over the last decades these American ideals have been slowly eroded by central planners who claim to know better than you how to manage your life. I fear that these so-called “leaders,” aspiring to control every aspect of people’s lives for “our own good,” are trying to turn the power structure into the oppressive regime I left behind. It is as if we have not learned the lessons of the 100 years of failed socialist experiments and the human hardships and deprivations that resulted.
It is my time to serve, to make this land of opportunity better than I found it, and to defend our constitutionally protected freedoms that make it great.
As your elected representative I will fight for lower taxes, fewer regulations, Second Amendment rights, smaller constitutional government, educational freedom, and individual liberty on every single issue.
Sincerely,
Michael Yakubovich
