I think that this erasing of the Boy in Boy Scouts is a bad idea, in general. Boys don’t just become men; they may become adults but that doesn’t make them a man. I think it is rather obvious that I don’t throw in with the Progressive groupthink that sex / gender is just a social concept and that anyone is interchangeable with anyone else and any sex. Boys need mentoring, they need training, and they need oversight to be the men that Society needs. While the Boy Scout program wasn’t the end-all, be-all to do that, it was one that actually tried to do exactly that.
Sorry but their “leadership” caved in to the PC thoughtpolice and now we have to see what will happen. Frankly, I’m glad that the Girl Scouts are going all harridan on this decision – it seems the girls are all flocking to the Boy Scouts program. They went full PC Feminism years ago – now they are, in part, reaping those decisions.
I do wonder if there will be a Scout system left by the time the Grandson reaches the right age – it certainly won’t be the one that Baden-Powell founded.
