Why I Will Vote For Frank Guinta

“Be moderate in prosperity, prudent in adversity.”  -Periander

guintaI’ve been closely watching Congressman Guinta’s voting record over this last term. Guinta has clearly corrected himself on many of the votes that drew ire from many of his conservative constituents. He had the tribulation of his FEC issue and is now past it (I think…although, if it were CSP, it would have gone away quicker and would have been minimized by Ray Buckley).

But what clinched it for me was a statement made by his primary opponent, Rich Ashooh July 20th on Jack Heath’s New Hampshire Today show. (Listen at 30:28)

Here is the spot….

Rich Ashooh states,

“I do support Gun Control, we have it on the books…”

And for me personally, that is a deal breaker. If Mr. Ashooh misspoke, I can understand that. Many running for office do. But on the other hand, clearly, Mr. Ashooh lacks the intricate and specific knowledge about the right to keep and bear arms that Congressman Guinta has. America is at a crossroads where so many stridently seek to take away our guns. (before you respond and say that nobody is going to take away our guns, be prepared to have me call “bullshit!”).

And, if for no other reason, I am supporting Congressman Frank Guinta’s re-election.
