Run. Hide. Fight. That is the name of a new video being promoted by Law Enforcement all around the country in the wake of active shooter attacks. The video tells us about the number of shooter attacks and then advises that, “Just like fire drills…and earth quake preparedness, making a plan in advance can make all the difference.”
Step 1: Run. Find a way out of the location. Extricate yourself from the situation as quickly as you can.
Step 2: Hide. Use cover and concealment. Get to a safe area where you can, “lock down.”
Step 3: Fight. Defend yourself. “If you cannot run and escape, If you cannot shelter and lock down, you may have to defend yourself…” wait….what?
The video then instructs viewers to find an improvised weapon. A Weapon? Defend yourself?
Well, now is that not ironic? During the never-ending news cycle fo past mass shootings, anti-gun liberals chided, caterwauled and hissed at the very notion that a person with a firearm could stop an active shooter. They all called the notion, foolish. Moms Demand Action are great at disparaging those who advocate for the right of self-defense. The Brady Campaign and all those other Bloomberg-aligned Kool-aid Slurping liberals. All the cowboy and hero pejoratives hurled about. You can’t make this stuff up!
Another strange irony is this whole video. When we teach citizens to use handguns, we teach them about, “stand your ground,” but…we also instruct them to make good prudent choices: For example, dont get into a gunfight if you can safely retreat. The second thing we teach is to take cover and finally, we teach our students to fight…going hot on the trigger. The principles at work here in this video, are the basic principles taught in many gun courses.
Finally, the folly and corruption of this public service video is exposed when the video instructs one to, “get a weapon…an improvised weapon. Well Hell! If you are in a situation where you are going to be in the fight for your life, why not have a tool of last report? Like a firearm? Stupid-ass liberals.
So, by all means, Run. Hide. Fight…But when the fight is on, ensure you have two fresh magazines and a properly working firearm.
