Weather, No Fan of Democrats: Obamanomic’s Flaccid–Again

We all heard the horrible, but yet unsurprising and actually quite expected, news of the ghastly revision of the first quarter economic numbers. Originally they were estimated at a meager 0.1 percent growth in April, but the economy just couldn’t muster enough energy to even hold that number and instead shriveled. It contracted by 2.9%. So instead of maintaining a solid direction in a slightly, exceedingly slightly, upward direction, the numbers dropped, drooping to a dangly, flaccid 2.9% contraction in the first quarter this year. Damn.

The reason you ask? Apparently, the weather’s to blame (naturally). Which is bad news for this administration, as Ted Cruz explains, the Weather is Republican (h/t Ian Tuttle The Corner):

But have no fear. We’ve all heard of “5 times the charm”, so welcome to “Recovery Summer 5.0,” also known as go-on-with-your-life-there’s-nothing-to-see-here, you-don’t-hold-us-accountable-anyway so-move-along-and-ready-yourself-for Recovery Summer 6.0 next year, that’s if the Islamists don’t hit us by then—which is a 50/50 at this point.  Obamanomics: What comes around goes around, and around and around, down the drain, skidding the sides all the way to the murky, fetid bottom.

I’m a software guy with a penchant for football, hockey, music, current events and politics -- mostly current events and politics. Having driven several conversations to silence while discussing the latter items, it has been intimated that I should blog about it; to purge it from my system so that we may return to enjoying social events and cocktail parties. Kind of like drawing venom from a snakebite so that the body may return to health. The body, in this clumsy metaphor, is the social life of my wife:0) So, game on! I’ve got opinions and I hope to persuade and look forward, in return, to be persuaded.
