About that interview that I just put up; Peter Martin interviewing Jerry Thibodeau, who is running to unseat long, long, long (er, too long) holder of said seat, Ray Burton–who seems to act like he is entitled to it. While that interview is running in-and-about Northern cable systems (accessing about 19 towns / cities), two folks have decided that THEY have the divine right to not put up the video. Playing politics, it seems? You bet!
- Bob O’Conner is the flack up in Littleton that controls the access to the time on the Littleton public access system and the voters that could see what is on. It is my understanding that he claimed that “they are not getting involved in politics”; it is also my understanding is that he is also a big Burton booster so instead of letting the ideas and the discussion go out to the people and let them decide for themselves, he has decided that HE is the Gatekeeper and has the right to determine the political stage for others. It is clear that the Littleton Area TV 2’s schedule is not exactly brimming and jam-packed with chock-a-block good stuff:

- Lauren Luce is seemingly doing the same thing in Lincoln (745-2214). She isn’t outright refusing, according to one source, but is playing the stupid game of asking the same question over and over (as if she had never asked the question recently in the past) – she’s all in on a modified stall game. If true, it looks like she thinks that by playing (and being) stupid, she can skate by and out wait the request. Unfortunately, all she is showing is political cowardice – a stall is nothing more than a passive-aggressive “nope”.
I’ll be contacting them in the morning – I feel interviews coming on (short though they may be). If you decide to do the same, be polite, be nice, and simply ask that the interview be shown.
Full disclosure: I just brought the same interview over to the Lakes Region Public Access expecting that there might be a bit of a push back.
Heh!
The request to run it was met with “and what times would you like it to be seen? Here’s the available slots…” including prime time on Saturday night (8pm) and a good slot on Sunday afternoon (and some random times as well).
