Juliana Bergeron – More words of “responsible” and “compromise”

I relayed the post that Steve put up on what Juliana Bergeron had said to my co-worker out in San Diego (and helps to run the Women V.I.Ps that her Mom started decades ago – a Conservative  oriented issues and candidate supporting group):

The New Revised Unabridged 2012 Dictionary:

Reasonable – > Liberal, large controlling government, anti-American, Socialistic, Communistic.

Divisive  – > Constitutional, pro-American values, small government, liberty and freedom (opposite of “reasonable”)

Heh! And this from a friend that was at last week’s Belknap County Republican Committee meeting:

At the Belknap County Republican meeting last Wednesday, Bergeron talked about the need for compromise.  I told her compromise was often fine, but not of our principles. Too often the Democrats want to deficit spend by a trillion dollars while we want a balanced budget.  If compromise means we settle on $500 billion in deficit spending, then I am totally against compromise.  My comment got some applause…but as I recall no useful response from Bergeron.

The entire piece from the Keene Sentinel after the jump – along with her email that she sent out to the NH GOP State Committee:

She assumes the position in September, and will be one of three people who represent the state as voting members of the national party, along with the state chairman and a national committeeman.

I’m very excited; it means another reasonable voice in the Republican party,” Bergeron said Saturday, shortly after the vote. “I think this also means a lot for Republicans in Cheshire County.”

Bergeron said much of her focus will be on working to help unite her party.

If we keep electing divisive people,” she said, “we’ll never be united. We need to elect people who will work with all groups, and we need to teach them that sometimes you have to compromise, that you can have conversations across the aisle.”

Bergeron is a member of the executive committee of the New Hampshire Republican Party. In 2011 she was a candidate to lead the state party, but lost to Jack Kimball. She manages her own insurance and investment business in Keene.

She said she worked tirelessly for this opportunity, speaking across the state to various groups, and reaching out with mailings, letters, emails and through a Facebook page. She said to “get someone elected from this part of the state is really good thing.”

Tucker, vice chairman of the powerful State House Rules Committee, was endorsed by Speaker of the House Bill O’Brien.

In no way could Ms. Bergeron be considered a TEA Party / 9-12 Project / L & F supporter.  Simply, a “Republican” Republican.  Guess we grassroots are the “divisive” ones.  Like my friend told me, a $500 Billion compromise, when we are about to head off the financial cliff, is no compromise at all.  We’re done compromising; why let the Democrat Socialists get their entire agenda online if we let them slowing compromise US to socialism?

Ms. Bergeron, why not make the other side compromise with US a majority of the time for a change?

You know, a lot of the time, I really do believe that a lot of the Establishment Republicans see us as more the “enemies” than they do Democrats (sorta like Obama: he seems more willing to schmooze with our national enemies than TEA Party folks who only wish to go back to our Founding Fathers philosophy and constraints on government.

Oh yeah – that Email Letter:

Dear Friends,

I am writing to offer my thanks to everyone on the NH Republican State Committee.  Every one of you works so very hard for the principles that unite us all and I am grateful for those efforts.  The Republican Party remains the clearest, most effective voice for freedom, limited government, opportunity, life and the right to bear arms and the fight to protect that platform can not be abandoned.

I would like to offer a special thanks to Phyllis Woods who has led our party as National Committeewoman with grace and dedication and has offered such a strong example for other women Republicans.  I also sincerely thank Rep. Pamela Tucker, not only for running a strong race for Committeewoman, but also for the hard work and strong leadership she offers in the House every day.

Finally, I want to express my deep appreciation and profound respect for Speaker of the House Bill O’Brien and Senate President Peter Bragdon, and every single Republican who serves with them.  They are the public face of our party, doing the difficult work of legislating from a position of principle and showing the state that it is Republicans who offer the policy and solutions that best serve us all.

I look forward to traveling the state in the coming months, getting to know you all, and learning from you directly how I can best support your efforts as Republican leaders.  We are truly united in our commitment to putting an end to the radical Obama agenda of dependence and entitlement and making sure that we return the corner office in Concord to responsible Republican hands.

Sincerely,

Juliana Bergeron

There’s that word again – responsible (see the top of the post).  Well, I had this to say about that:  Am betting that I would not be included in that subset universe she calls “responsible Republicans hands”…
