Another Presidential candidate calls a halt to the race – Herman Cain

by Skip

After several weeks of dealing with allegations of improprieties and a media hell-bent on chasing him out of the race, Herman Cain decided to suspend his campaign to be the next Republican nominee for President.  Unlike John McCain when he suspended his during the fiscal crisis to go to DC, went back to Senate deliberations, and then resumed it afterwards, I don’t believe that Herman will “re-activate” his unless he wishes to follow a Tancredo scenario to push an agenda (i.e., Tancredo’s was immigration).  It also, to be sure, would allow him to qualify (if all other criteria is met) for Federal matching funds.  Dunno if his campaign is in the hole right now, but that would be one aspect to watch for.  Here is what he said earlier today:

With this, I think it fair to say that GraniteGrok’s endorsement of Herman is of little worth at this point in time.  In fact, I had even go so far as to act as the Belknap County captain and now have a fair amount of signs, brochures, buttons, and the like as I was going to act as “the depot” for other local supporters.  I guess, now, they will be suitable as collectibles some time in the future…
