Update:Here is his plan.
Even though we at the ‘Grok have endorsed Herman Cain for President, the Gov. Rick Perry campaign reached out and asked if we would cover the blogger call held this morning with the architects of that plan. Given our mission of "citizen journalists", we present the talk given by the campaign (not Rick Perry himself) and the Q & A session:

Q & A:
Regardless of who it comes from, I like the idea of a flat tax whereby politicians can no longer coerce behavior modification of citizens – it is an overreach by Government to have moved from the philosophy of raising just enough in taxes to fund a limited government to one where they can use the tax plan to make us behave (via tax carrots and sticks) in ways that they believe are best for us (and for which they judge us too stupid to do on our own, or worse, would refuse to do otherwise).
Still, I would prefer a consumption tax that would include all citizens in supporting the expenditures of Government – after all, if we all felt the yoke financially, we might all start demanding that yoke be lighter. When you are in the position of not having to wear that yoke and can demand that someone else wear it for you, the idea of limited government simply dissipates.
Hey, Charlie Rangel (D-NY, head US tax legislator and tax cheat) – you want everyone to share in the burden of serving in the military via a mandatory draft – how come you aren’t demanding the same in the tax realm?
Oh yeah, being a tax cheat yourself, you’re dandy with someone else wearing your yoke….along with Timmy "Turbo Tax" Geithner…
