They have no intentions of reining in spending

From Boortz:

We’ll give the nod to the tax cheat Obama chose to run the IRS – the Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.  Geithner was testifying before the House Small Business Committee – not about how he cheated on his taxes – but on his boss’s plan to raise taxes on small businesses in this country – to raise money on our principal private sector jobs creation machine.  Addressing Obama’s plan for tax increases on small businesses Geithner said that the administration had “no alternative” but to raise taxes on small businesses because if you didn’t you would “have to shrink the overall size of government programs.”

So, we have an Administration that has jacked up spending from about $2.7 Trillion to almost $4 Trillion per year, two annual deficits of $1.5 trillion (and this year’s estimated to be $1.4 Trillion), and they don’t believe it is enough???

This is the Democrat / Progressive mantra – there is no such thing as a "fair share" when it comes to Government.  The Law of Property Rights (after all, your money IS your property as a result of your expenditure of time, talent, and effort) is of no consequence to these people and others of the same ilk.  To them, it is THEIR money – how dare we even contemplate that Government must shrink (even as NH has now officially shrunk its budget by 12% under the rubric of a more frugal handling of taxpayer dollars).

Their main principle is NOT the freedom of the individual, to strive for what is best for all of us, but to take that brow sweat ‘for the common good’.  While no one argues against a limited government doing certain things (and hopefully, doing them well), it is the unprecedented growth that is giving rise to the angst among many.  Throw in the now current discussions that a debt ceiling might be unconstitutional with the accompanying meme that, if true, Obama could just pile on the debt without limit) and you can easily and plainly see that their vision for America is that Government ALWAYS comes first – we will do as we are told.

July 4th, the day we celebrate our independence from England, is coming up.  We fought a Revolutionary War to become free men under the radical notion that our Rights come from God and that we are sovereign individuals that lend part of those Rights to Government.

With the impending fiscal calamity, it seems that we will become that which most of history has recorded of mankind – mere serfs, indentured to a debt load placed upon us by our "betters", spending our childrens and grandchildrens’ futures for the now and present.
