Not even “leadership from behind”, but leadership from behind the curtain

by

Caroline Glick is Deputy Managing Editor of the Jerusalem Post and had this to  say about Obama after his takedown by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu:

…Obama’s leadership model is the model of subversive leadership. Subversive leaders in democracies do not tell their citizens where they wish to lead their societies. They hide their goals from their citizens, because they understand that their citizens do not share their goals. Then once they achieve their unspoken goals, they present their people with a fait accompli and announce that only they are competent to shepherd their societies through the radical shift they undertook behind the public’s back.

She nailed it.  Hope and Change, as we have seen, was an empty, hollow Gold Medal of a marketing blurb.  Read into it what you wanted, and you had it.  Read out of it what you wanted, well, it fit that as well.  Very little showed before the election, barring the famous gaffe made to Joe the Plumber about spreading the wealth, on what his vision was for the country.  Only five days before did we hear about "fundamentally transforming" the country.  Unfortunately, we failed at detecting his Stage One – who and what was Obama (our failed Free Press was complicit in this stealth campaign).

Stage Two we missed altogether, as we were bombarded by one multi-thousand page bill after another after another.  Many times, I sat at the keyboard frustratedly wondering HOW he could come up with SO many bills with SO many effects on the American way of life SO quickly.  His stealth implementation that has turned out to be readied by thousands of Leftist minions whose goal IS to radically transform the status of the Citizen to the State:  from sovereign to subservience, from rugged individualist to one of government dependence.

And now, given the levers of power he holds, he is going about it in the areas of Obamacare, energy, education, and regulation. And never willing to fully put on the table the why of what he does.  For she is right – most, even most Democrats, would never consent if they knew where the road would end.

Stage Three is already partially at hand (with Government, via the Fed, special interest politicians bought and paid for,  and the Community Reinvestment Act, bearing much of the blame) as we see the Dodd Financial Take Over bill trying to rectify what Govt has already wrought.

We have caught on – November 2nd is clear on that.  The question is whether it is enough, and is it sufficient to stop the rapid onslaught of the Regulatory State that Obama is even now unleashing against his fellow citizens.

Ms. Glick is right and wrong at the same time: subversive is only the kindest word that I could think of in describing my President at this time.

And yes, we stand with Israel
