Look out NH – what has happened in Wisconsin is now about to be unleashed here in NH. Via JP Marzullo:
This guy sent this to our State Senator Andy Sanborn; anyone know him? Nice guy huh? Good Luck with throwing him out. Let the games begin.
Dear Andy Sanborn,
There are more of us than you. A referermdun has started to to gather signatuers to throw the anti-union fascists out of office. we have enough signatures.Sincerely,
james schuler

First, Mr. Schuler hasn’t a clue: he doesn’t even know the proper definition of "fascists". I guess he want to the Zandra Rice-Hawkins school of linguistics and epistiomology. Pretty much, it seems, that he belongs to the same class of intellectuals that believes that if you are against homosexual marriage, you are a homophobe. If you are against illegal immigration, you are racist.
Well, a good definition of the term is (via Dictionary.com):
- (sometimes initial capital letter ) a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
- (sometimes initial capital letter ) the philosophy, principles, or methods of fascism.
- (initial capital letter ) a fascist movement, especially the one established by Mussolini in Italy 1922–43.
Trust me, that ain’t Andy. Nor, it is that of the NH Republicans either. If anything, if you really take the time to read the bills, you will see that instead of empowering and gathering more and more power to itself, the present NH House has been DEvolving that power outward, not to other organizations, but onward to individuals. Sure, if you are a tied-in-the-wool unionist who will cry "Union at any cost!", you may think that this is an attack on you if you so identify yourself so closely with your union that you lose your individuality, your own persona.
Instead, for this issue, that power is being given to the individual. The question is, why isn’t it fair to give the power to join (or not) to the individual? After all, this country was founded on the notion of, not of the collective, but on liberty for each citizen, right?
Note: since I’m a wee late on actually posting this up, this in from JP:
You may have remembered a few days a posting from a Mr. James Schuler from Weare and his threat to Senator Andy Sanborn. Here is what was found on Google: FYI – according to Google this "esteemed public servant" works for the NH Public Utilities Commission in Concord. I feel better knowing we have men of such high character looking out for all us ratepayers here in NH
Nice to see our public servants threatening our elected officials. Certainly, one can give him points for his honesty in signing his letter, not so much his common sense for doing so…make a threat, "out" yourself?
Good going, James!
