Tweets in my ear – a trend: is John Sununu engaging in a political whisper campaign against Jack Kimball?

by

Betcha this ain’t gonna keep me on the Christmas Card list… Well, I’ll know what the deal is on Jan 22 – at the Dec. Belknap County Republican meeting, I was told by an NH GOP Staffer that "Sure, GraniteGrok can do GrokTALK! from the Annual Meeting!".  Better, three of us Groksters are Members as well.

I know that he did say in his Letter to the NH GOP Executive board that he’d be willing to "help out" the next set of folks – but ONLY if, in HIS view, the right folks were elected:

The Admonishment (a "do as I say or I’ll take my ball home and stay there" moment?):

But I should note to you that my willingness to continue serving the Party depends on the NHGOP choosing qualified officers who would do the job well. I cannot make a commitment to stay involved unless I am confident that the State Committee has assembled a team that is capable of effectively managing the organization.

Remember, I also caught the "story shopping" caper too. So, color me unsurprised as I am now getting getting FB direct messages and Tweets that are starting to add up to a pattern.  One is like this from a voting Member of the NH GOP State Committee.

This Sununu is a MAD man

I can tell you, this Member was spitting mad!  Normally a mild mannered person, Tasmanian Devil doesn’t even come close in description (calling Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde!) on what I received…Youch!

Am hearing that Sununu is calling up a lot of the Members with a typical political whisper campaign – taking things that Jack (and his supporters) have said and giving them that "ever so deft twist" that is the hallmark of a fine political operative (one does not rise to the level of Governor or Presidential Chief of Staff for nuttin’, you know).  Let’s inject some FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt) into the process, like:

Jack Kimball is going to enforce a litmus test?  Have you heard the same thing?

But I will say (and I’ll start putting them up here if I get permission to do so), it seems to be the mark of someone who is realizing a legacy may be all but ready to be  tarnished by an obdurance towards the grassroots if his handpicked successor loses to a TEA Party upstart….you really think he wants to be remembered like the GOP Chairs in Utah and Maine and Nevada when the Liberty & Freedom folks "took over" the Party?

Not sure if that is the right phrase: "take over"?  After all, we’re Republicans too!

Or is King John applying a litmus test as well (see above)?
