Right – another Democrat who blithely expects that people are entitled to something without paying for it: water – in bottles any time anyone is going to have an assembly. In essence, this is a tax on the folks putting on the event.
Now, to be truthful, there’s not a lot to comment on – that’s it until it is put into bill form and searchable on the NH.GOV site. But sometimes, even these little things show a mindset that every small inconvenience HAS to have a solution -and Progressives have JUST the solution – their ideas!
My first thought would have been that Government would have to supply it free of charge – free, that is, to the attendees. Of COURSE, using other peoples’ money is just fine to do. Hey, it’s only pennies, right?
My second thought is that the burden is going to be put on the event organizers. Now, if it is a commercial vendor working in a paid event, effectively this is just a cost of doing business – "a tax by water" (creative folks, these Progressives) and placing additional burdens on the private sector.
Now, flip it – think of a non-profit just barely making it. Or more in my experience, doing a major TEA Party event, this would be a major crimp in that activity. Think a buck a bottle and 4-5,000 people. That would double the cost to the small, small groups that barely have a nickel to hold up. Effectively, this would make them untenable.
Is that the purpose of this?
