We don’t have the ability to do "voter initiatives" at the State level here in NH. However, we do have that ability, at the town level, by way of "petition warrants" to be voted upon by the townfolk in each town. String enough of them together (and it is not as quite as easy as it would seem), you could have the same effect.
But I do have to admit, I’ve been smiling ever since I read that this morning!
