Christmas – thankfulness, hearing, and returning

Christmas

That God would even consider sending His Son, to later die on the cross with foreknowledge for even the likes of me, is a gift beyond compare-a miracle too awesome to contemplate or understand.

God incarnate, grace made alive, sin made perishable, forgiveness freely given – all in the form of a tiny, helpless baby in a stable’…s rough manger. Yet, God’s manifest gift caused knees to bend and angels sing.

Christmas

A time of frenzied running, of presents bought, turns to a time of reflection and thought. The sounds of everyday life and demands slowly fade to silence, leaving us with friends & family and the knowledge that God loves us as we are (and not as we or others would wish us be).

Can we, WILL we, heed that small, still call to Him? Will we allow ourselves to hear?

Christmas

We receive joy in those that are with us, with close conversations and warm fellowship. In soulful, joyous singing, may the notes ring out!

Yet, my heart goes out in prayer to those not present & cannot be home. May God be with you, My Youngest; my prayer tonite is that He be with you, far from home & surrounded by danger all about. May my sole Christmas gift be that you come home safely to family.
