Guest post: “Buck for State Rep.”

by

I had met Chris at the Rochester / Dover 9-12 Picnic and we had the chance to yak for a little while.  So, when he asked if I would put this  up for him, I was just dandy with his request:

Dear Neighbor,

Do you know your State Representative?  Most people don’t, which is something I want to change if you elect me to be your Representative in Concord.  Accountability and transparency in government are the values I stand for, along with balancing our State budget and supporting our veterans.

But you want more than rhetoric, which is why I am making the following proposals:

  1. Put a record of all government spending online.
  2. Let the taxpayers vote by referendum on a balanced budget amendment to the State Constitution.
  3. Reduce recently increased taxes on small businesses to encourage job growth, while balancing the budget and honoring our commitments.

These are all reasonable initiatives, but my opponent voted against each of them.  We can do better.  As an entrepreneur and a technology professional, I will bring a thoughtful and fresh approach to government.

I ask you to consider getting involved in my campaign.  With our economy struggling, too many of our citizens out of work, and our loved ones fighting for our freedom abroad or returning from war, so much is at stake.  “Buck up” with a yard sign, volunteer making phone calls, or consider a small financial contribution.  I promise that any commitment you make will be returned to you tenfold when I work tirelessly to find more efficient, more transparent, and more accountable ways to serve you and to grow our State’s economy.  Join us at ChrisBuck2010.com.  Thank you.

Sincerely,

Chris Buck, Esq.
Candidate for State Representative
Dover, Wards 1 and 2
