It looks like the NHDP is trying to harpoon Republican candidate for Speaker Bill O’Brien. Must think he’s a threat to the tax and spend lifestyle of the left.
Here is a message from Bill about this political attack to his constituents.
Dear Neighbor,
This afternoon Ray Buckley, the chairman of the NH Democrat party made robo-calls to Republicans households in all five towns in our state representative district against me and my candidacy for state representative.
These robo-calls are pre-recorded messages that can be sent out by computer to thousands of telephones at the same time. In this case, they disguised the number that the calls came from by sending out a disconnected number to show up on caller ID.
I don’t have a recording of what the Democrat party chair said, but it has been described to me as going around saying I want to join the Democrat party, that I want to be a member of some group called the Gay Alliance, and similar things – all intended to get Republicans to vote against me tomorrow.
It shows the intellectual bankruptcy of the Democrat party that they would try to destroy a Republican’s chances of getting elected in a Republican primary by saying he has become a Democrat. It also shows how desperate they are that I do not become Speaker of the NH House that they would make up these lies about me and spread them around at the last minute.
Yet, the Democrat party chair’s lies could have the negative effect he wants. Voters who might not know me, might believe the calls and vote against me.
Could you talk or email your friends and neighbors in Lyndeborough, Mont Vernon, New Boston, Temple and Wilton and ask them to tell others that these are lies and intended to make sure that Republicans don’t have the representation they need in Concord? We need a very quick, "word-of-mouth" (and email) communication to Republican voters telling them that they are being lied to by the head of the NH Democrat party and they should show what they think about those lies by voting for me.
If everyone could email his or her neighbors and ask them to do the same, we might just be able to do it.
Thanks so much for your help.
-Bill O’Brien
