In the words of Mary Jane Wallner (D-Concord), "“Many aspects of this bill are painful, (but) it is the responsible action to take,” to avoid painfully deep budget cuts later, she said."" MJ is quoted by this morning’s Union Leader on the passage of SB 450, the Bob The Builder Budget repair Bill. SB 450 passed 182 to 173 with 40 House reps not voting.
So let me see if I have this in the proper perspective democrat House Majority leader Wallner. Deep cuts into the budgets and lifestyles of New Hampshire families to offset year after year of irresponsible democrat binge spending on an expansive and expensive government we clearly could never afford were not painful, but avoiding budget cuts that would return money to the taxpayers is. And the responsible action is to continue to screw taxpayers for bad management and poor leadership at the hands of democrats.
What other conclusion can I draw.
A casual search failed to produce any statements from democrats about the responsible and painful act of increasing the budget at taxpayer expense. There are no press releases bemoaning the necessary burden to be shouldered by the electorate at the hands of democrats who could see no other course but to grow state government repeatedly in the middle of a recession. But when the faerie tale revenue projections fell short again, and how many times has that happened since the liberals took the reins of state government, that’s when it’s time to be responsible and take action–to save precious. Yes, my precious spending. We won’t let the hobittses steal you from us.
"“Many aspects of this bill are painful, (but) it is the responsible action to take,”…
So in the vacuum of real leadership where the interests of the people should take precedent over the democrat parties desire to grow government and spend other people’s money, we find ourselves confronted with more late hour deal making, new and exciting ways to increase revenue to hide gross incompetence, and most of it devoid of the proper process required by law.
This is the legacy of Democrat rule in the State of New Hampshire. With any luck, come November, the people will point to the left and say, "I know this going to be painful, but voting your ass out of office is the responsible action to take."
