I am about to head over to Laconia to cover the "Ask Mitt Anything" event. As I observe the presidential race in my sphere of life here in Central NH, it appears that the blitz of TV advertisements that are indeed compelling– the most recent example being the illegal immigration ad— seems to be resonating with the ordinary folks I encounter in my typical day. More people told me about Mitt Romney’s visit here today than for any other local happening, excepting perhaps McCain’s Gilford appearance earlier this year. Based on my random conversations as of late, I am discovering more and more Romney supporters. Of course, this isn’t really anything close to scientific, and the only real comparative method that could be plausible would be if some of the other candidates made their way into this neck of the woods…

I’ll report later on what I see and hear today. I’m shooting some video too. Could it be that Mitt Romney is the one to beat here in the Lakes Region?
