Blue Hampshire Doesn’t Really Understand NH “Citizen Activism”

DC 91209

In a posting dated Monday, September 17, 2012 (the 225th anniversary of the creation of the US Constitution), William Tucker over at Blue Hampshire (or, more accurately, “Boo-Hoo Hamster”), states that “conservative special interest groups successfully targeted GOP lawmakers who failed to toe the ideological line…“.

Good observation, but his title “NH GOP purges moderates” is all wrong.

Calling them “victims of the purge”, and attempting to tie their demise to the nefarious and pointy-tailed Bill O’Brien, Tucker quotes the consistently unbiased Nashua Telegraph reporter, Kevin Landrigan, subtly ginning-up fears of some Koch-Nugent-Sununu-Eastwoodian cabal, secretly operating somewhere in West Virginia, working to eradicate all New Hampshire RINOs, then coming to blast us all back to the horrible 1950’s (when people didn’t lock their doors at night, families could afford to have Mom stay at home if they chose, planning for retirement wasn’t a laugh, we actually had affordable private medical care, and the dollar was worth more than fourteen cents).

Hypocrisy 101 – How to deceive the American people, or at least try to.

Obama has come out swinging at Mitt Romney lately, trying to indict him of nasty capitalist behavior while at Bain Capital (which he apparently left in 1999). This commercial tries to blame Romney (along with Bain) for the closing of the Kansas City GST Steel plant in 2001. However, it appears that one of Obama’s … Read more

Silly Jackie, pledges are for politicians with backbones…and conviction

Using the oh-so-clever “we need to keep an open mind” excuse, former state senator and current Democrat gubernatorial candidate Jackie Cilley has pledged not to pledge to veto any broad-based taxes in New Hampshire, should she ascend to the post in November. Calling them “simplistic”, Cilley declared earlier this year that “I won’t play pledge … Read more

Revolution

On this day, a congress of desperate men drew a line in the sand; a line upon which they squarely placed their assets, reputations, lives, and the lives of their families.

What caused them to take such a risk? We all know what happened on July 4th, but what was at the heart of such a gamble for a group of educated and relatively comfortable men with plenty to lose?

“Self-determination”

These men already knew that in the colonies, men had the ability, within their class, to be successful by waging business, farming, or providing services.  Resources and opportunity were plentiful and, after a handful of generations had settled in, they began to see themselves as a sovereign people; yet Britain chose to treat them as a revenue-generating satellite of their massive empire, rather than brethren Englishmen.

Essential Liberties

Stories are running rampant lately throughout social media and blog spheres about the Enemy Expatriation Act (HR 3166/S1698) (detailed bill text here), initiated in Congress back in October, 2011 by Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT), Congressmen Charlie Dent (R-PA), Scott Brown (R-MA), and Jason Altmire (D-PA).  The summary text of this bill states, “To add engaging in or supporting hostilities against the United States to the list of acts for which United States nationals would lose their nationality.

Basically, this bill adds this new clause to the Immigration and Nationality Act (US Code, Title 8 “Aliens and Nationality”, Chapter 12, Sub Chapter III, Part III “Loss of Nationality”, sections 1481/1483 – link here).

So, what is a “United States national“?    (read on to find out if you are one…)

Who Needs the Black Panthers?

File under “vote early and vote often“.

This week, we saw an extraordinary display of civic exposure, watching James O’Keefe and crew acquire ballots for voters who recently died. But that’s not all of it.

After reading this article, I learned that our voter checklists are not all they are cracked up to be.  In addition to listing recently-deceased people, there are cases of people moving out of state, or to other New Hampshire towns, without being purged from the list.  Given these cases, some people may actually be able to vote multiple times, without challenge.

A Personal Endorsement for Ron Paul

I live in New Hampshire.  I served as a US Army Field Artillery officer, own my own business, and started the Greater Nashua (NH) Tea Party.  I love my country and will be voting for Congressman Ron Paul in the New Hampshire Republican primary.

America is in deep trouble; fiscally, culturally, and constitutionally.  We took great strides in pulling our nation from the brink of collapse in the 2010 mid-term elections and, as we approach the Presidential election of 2012, are positioned to take the next great step, denying Barack Obama a second dangerous term.

When the primary process started, I took a quick look at the candidates.  Of course, I wanted to choose the most conservative candidate who could win.  Each candidate had a number of positives, and many of them were preaching messages I wanted to hear – smaller, less intrusive Federal government, fiscal sanity, and a return to a culture of personal accountability and individual responsibility.  Which of these candidates, I wondered, really meant what they were saying?  Which one actually had the desire and fortitude to rebuild the economic and personal liberties we have given up over the past fifty years, at the hands of both political parties?

Mitt Romney and the Cartel

Saw a posting yesterday on a social network, which really bothered me. After all we just went through, and continue to go through, with TARP, bailouts, stimulus, two rounds of quantitative easing (QE), and now a pending IMF bailout, I see this story, titled “Federal Records Show Romney Campaign Bought And Paid For By Big Banks”. … Read more

As a Conservative, I have no problem in “kicking up the dust” on candidates…

This past week, I’ve heard a number of people complaining about Republicans and Conservatives criticizing Republican candidates (did you notice that I separated “Republicans” and “Conservatives”?). I am guilty as charged as one of those Conservatives who has been “kicking up the dust” against a few candidates.

After the disaster that is Barack Obama, America has a chance to reset, start over, change direction, and work towards recovering its greatness, which is clearly at self-imposed risk. Yet some of the Republican choices we are presented with are just rehashed versions of candidate’s we’ve seen before, fitting the mold of Republicans who helped us to this distressed place. My concern with these candidates is that if one of them were to win, they would quickly fall back into old GOP habits, failing to exploit the opportunity to make real change when we need it the most.

Me supporting Mitt Romney? Hardly

If you are considering a vote for Mitt Romney on January 10, and if you feel strongly about the following list of issues, you may want to think again.  Despite what he says today, Romney supported stronger gun laws for Massachusetts (the only current candidate to do such a thing).  He also once assured MA … Read more

Right to work provides freedom for employees

Wow, the public sector unions (OK, actually the union bosses) sure are afraid of the right-to-work bill passed by the New Hampshire Legislature and vetoed by Gov. John Lynch; their frantic, defensive reaction tells us so. The freedom that this legislation would provide is something we often overlook – but we cannot ignore. A good … Read more

Andy Martin, the “vexatious”, non-starter 2012 Presidential candidate

Mr. Martin – with your email below, you have alienated nearly every Conservative in NH, particularly the active, "Tea Party" types who vehemently support Jack Kimball, and have done so for over two years.

Your anti-semitic comments and frivolous lawsuits speak for themselves.  Your rant below towards Jack Kimball is just as frivolous as some of these past lawsuits.  I also see that you have been labeled a "vexatious litigant" by a number of US courts.

    vex·a·tious

  1. Causing or tending to cause annoyance, frustration, or worry.
  2. Denoting an action or the bringer of an action that is brought without sufficient grounds for winning, purely to cause annoyance to the defendant

A number of claims have been made against you over the years, stating that you have made anti-semitic comments in public and in open courtrooms; your defense that "malicious judges" falsely inserted these comments into court documents is entirely absurd.

You seem to have taken "conspiracy theory" to a whole new level, and have turned it into a life-long career.

As I read your background, with numerous examples of such "vexatious" and irrational behavior (what you call "contrarian") going back 20+ years, I can understand why the GOP wants to distance themselves from you; and I support that decision.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Martin_(American_politician

His 1996 run for the Florida State Senate came unraveled when it was revealed that he’d named his campaign committee for his 1986 congressional run "The Anthony R. Martin-Trigona Congressional Campaign to Exterminate Jew Power in America." The revelation led the state Republican Party to renounce him. Just before the election, he assaulted two cameramen from WPTV, the NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach. He was convicted of criminal mischief and sentenced to a year in jail. He was freed pending appeal, but made personal attacks on the judge while on the way out of the courtroom. The judge held Martin in criminal contempt of court and sentenced him to seven months in jail. However, he was mistakenly let out of jail after only a month. Martin never returned, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. If he is ever arrested, he will have to serve 16 months in jail.[8] The warrant was still outstanding at least as of the time of Martin’s 2008 Senate run, but he said the issue is being "resolved."[12]

I am also not surprised to see that you were a Democrat until about 1990, when you were about 45 years old.

You should go back to the Democrat side of the aisle; these days, you’d fit right in without a problem.

Your history is working against you, sir, and I suggest you apologize publicly to Jack Kimball, if you ever want to be invited to as much as a PTA bake sale, anywhere inside Conservative New Hampshire.

After the jump is Andy Martin’s email that started the exchange and what NH GOP Jack Kimball actually said…

Notable Quote – George Washington

Q: Why do Liberals always seem to bash President Ronald Reagan for the increased debt during his terms as President?   A: Because it’s too easy. Generally speaking, Reagan’s deficit spending was a composite of three factors: Increasing military and defense spending, simultaneously preventing WWIII and drop-kicking the Soviet Union’s economy back to the 12th century.  I … Read more
