Sir, Can I have Another – Scandal?

NH Atkinson PDNever a town to avoid scandal, Atkinson is at it again.

They are holding a “candidates night” for the “public” to get to know the people running for office.

One such guy is the thug and former Atkinson part time police chief, Phil Consentino. He is a small time bully who has always abused his office and that landed him in the position of NOT being police chief after a sexual harassment settlement last year.

He is back running for selectman.

The Merrimack County Republican Committee has joined the ranks of Republican Committee’s scross the state that oppose the Bradley/Morse plan to expand Medicaid in New Hampshire  (SB413).  And they did it after he spoke in support of his plan at their meeting. Over on the Grok Facebook page we got an update from Susan Olsen … Read more

Foreign Policy Based on Fantasy

From Day One… The Washington Post posited today that Obama’s foreign policy is based on a fantasy. I think they’re right, but there’s another fantasy at play, here, too. Obama’s campaign pitch and much of his foreign and domestic policy were always based on the fantasy that his mere presence and his mere words would … Read more

Why The NH State Senate Republicans Must Bail on BradleyCare!

faustEvery day there are more people, and more reasons made public for not expanding Medicaid in New Hampshire–what I have dubbed ‘BradleyCare!  But this may be the single most important reason of all.

I better preface this first.

Do you recall the left’s reaction to the O’Brien Budget?  Do you remember how Democrats responded when the Republican Executive Council didn’t want to fund Planned Parenthood?  They freaked out.  They freaked out for weeks.  They freak out over the slightest sliver of light if it threatens their agenda.

Why are they not freaking out over BradleyCare! and it’s “guarantee” to sunset the program?

How Challenging Progressive Hypocrisy Equals ‘Childish Gotcha Games’

flying pucksMost days I will try to sift through the Grok Twitter feed for things to retweet.  Yesterday I retweeted plenty but this one in particular caught the attention of New Hampshire’s own @nhdogmom.  Follow me as we see how a Kool Aid drinking leftist gets mad when you ask them to explain their own words.  C’mon, it’s fun.

Here is the retweet that I sent out into the world, regarding a sex and bondage video made by Planned Parenthood.

…and here is @nhdogmom, not at all concerned about a BDSM sex video for kids; this is PPNE not Catholic priests–so it’s all good.  She just wants to make sure we know that Democrats support staying out of people’s bedrooms and private parts, the implication being that Republicans do not.  War on Women, yadda-yadda-yadda. But her claim regarding Democrats is so far-fetched, so wrongheaded, such an outright untruth that…well, let’s follow the tweets, shall we.

Fear Mongering And Ignorance Won The Day In Arizona

No one excels at fear mongering like the left and Arizona’s SB 1062.  It was never anti-gay and its veto was not a victory for gay rights (it was a victory for ignorance).   And the same ignorance and fear-mongering that lead to the outcry over nothing will probably suffice to keep most of those who were misled from ever knowing the truth.  We are here to help. Well, Rich Lowry is here to help.

Rich Lowry at NRO

The bill was roughly 998 pages shorter than much of legislation that passes in Washington. Clocking in at barely two pages, it was easy to scan for disparaging references to homosexuality, for veiled references to homosexuality, for any references to homosexuality at all.

They weren’t there. A headline from The Week declared, “There is nothing Christian about Arizona’s anti-gay bill.” It would be more accurate to say that there was nothing anti-gay about Arizona’s anti-gay bill.

The legislation consisted of minor clarifications of the state’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which has been on the books for 15 years and is modeled on the federal act that passed with big bipartisan majorities in the 1990s and was signed into law by President Bill Clinton.

Two Sununus Oppose Medicaid Expansion in NH

medicade- Looks refreshing, but always comes back to haunt you laterIf you search “Medicaid” in that search bar in the top right corner of the page, you will find a wealth of information (exposition, links, and so one) as to why we should not expand Medicaid in New Hampshire.  (Just two days ago we had a great discussion with Jenn Coffey about it on GrokTALK!)

If that is not enough reason, how about this?  Michael and James Sununu, yes those Sununu’s, have penned an excellent summation of the current situation; why we should not be expanding Medicaid in NH, and why Republicans of all people, in the State Senate in particular, should not be leading on expansion.  Here’s a snippet.

Supporters of expansion say we have to reduce the uninsured population. They argue the cost of the uninsured is too high and by insuring them through the government (albeit through taxpayer support for private insurance premiums) we will lower the overall cost of health care. Except available evidence shows us it doesn’t work. Maine expanded Medicaid coverage in 2002 for the same reason, but it was a huge failure. Before expansion, 12 percent of their population was uninsured. After Medicaid expansion? Still, 12 percent uninsured. Markets adjust when government gets more involved, so while Medicaid rolls expanded, private insurance rolls fell, costing taxpayers and businesses more money.

Where’s The Gaystapo When You Need Them?

Full court press on Arizona Bill that didn’t actually do anything to gays.  Full court press when just one of many bakeries (photographers, florists, etc) is uncomfortable providing a service for a gay wedding – must put them out of business.  Iran kills some gay men…nothing. Let’s be Honest About Who Is Suppressing Votes in New Hampshire

voted-by- mail vote absentee in your own stateThe majority of vote suppression in New Hampshire is caused by Democrats harboring and/or encouraging non-residents to vote here instead of where they actually live, thereby suppressing the electoral voice of actual residents whose votes are erased as a result.  The Democrat’s suppression of your votes is wide-spread, and their commitment to suppressing your will can be seen in their defense of non-resident voters.

Their single largest non-resident voting block is college students forced to pay out-of-state tuition by, you guessed it, Democrats.  (The second is OFA activists–professional campaign grifters.)  Anyone who dare suggest we not allow these non-residents to vote in New Hampshire is accused of vote suppression.

The problem with the Democrat’s vote suppression argument is that it is lie and thanks to an Obama For America Organizing for America Organizing for Acorn activist from South Carolina, who voted absentee in New Hampshire in November 2012, we get to make the point again.

Amherst Republican Town Committee Opposes Medicaid Expansion

NH-GOP_logoThe list of local NH-GOP committee’s against Medicaid expansion is growing.  I don’t have a complete list, but here is the most recent one to cross my desk.

At the monthly meeting of the Amherst Republican Town Committee, held earlier today, the following resolution was passed unanimously.
The New Hampshire Republican Party, State Senate, and State House leadership have been informed, as the resolution requires.

RESOLUTION OPPOSING MEDICAID EXPANSION
The following Resolution was adopted by vote of the Amherst Republican Committee members at a regular meeting of this body, on Saturday, March 1, 2014:

Russia Seizes Part of Ukraine – Obama Skips National Security Meeting

Is it still Obama’s National Security Team if it meets and Obama is never there?

Great question, because they met to talk about the situation with Russia and the Ukraine and Obama was too busy to attend.  But don’t worry.  According to “sources” he has been briefed by Susan ” it was a YouTube Video” Rice, and oh–the Russian Millitary has ‘Officially’ Seized the Crimea. (see also..)

There’s a voting present joke in here someplace.

And the left’s ears must be bleeding… Sarah Palin was right.

Yes, I could see this one from Alaska. I’m usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as “an extremely far-fetched scenario” by the “high-brow” Foreign Policy magazine. Here’s what this “stupid” “insipid woman” predicted back in 2008: “After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next.”
