COSMOS Sells Climate “Doom” As Science

mad scientistLast Fall, when I heard that the TV show COSMOS was coming back, I was a bit excited. I enjoyed the original, way back when, and was hopeful for the reboot.

But the first episode of the new COSMOS wasted no time demonstrating that axe-grinding propaganda would be part and parcel for its entertainment experience. “Science” would be at the beck and call of the writers, who proved themselves to be liberals, likely funded with money from liberals, who were going to use the show to promote ideas that secured funding for liberal mythologies rather than unbiased science.

I turned it off and walked away. I already know about liberal ‘science.’ It is all politics and little else. Revisiting it with splashy CGI would not make it less the lie.

I am not watching COSMOS, but as an observer of culture and media, I am still aware of the show, and it continues to use its claim at being about science, to lie to the public.

Massachusetts Bay Insurance Refuses to Renew NH Gun Shop Coverage

I’m not a big fan of boycotts but maybe we need to get the word out that Massachusetts Bay Insurance Company might be playing progressive anti-gun reindeer games with legal businesses in New Hampshire.  Just in case. Union Leader Shooters Outpost, a gun shop in Hooksett, New Hampshire, is claiming that it received a “non-renewal … Read more

The Promise of Free Enterprise

The Promise of Free Enterprise Built into the foundation of free enterprise is a promise. It’s a promise that no other economic system offers. This promise has a great deal to do with your sense of well-being, that is, your happiness. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton understood this. So does renowned social scientist, … Read more

The FDA’s War On Cheese

Cheeseboarding.  Because there is no room in the centrally planned utopia for flavor. If you were concerned that Gibson Guitars presented an unnecessary show of force when the SWAT team rolled in to seize the offending ebony fretboards, it won’t be much prettier to have the armored vehicle crash through a cheesemaker’s door.  More to … Read more

Obama’s Good Clean Feeling ‘No Matter What!’

There’s strong evidence that Obama has given up and intends to finish out his tenure as a taxpayer funded jet-setter, making the occasional speech to explain this or that royal edict, and planning his post-presidency by living it right now.  (I know, looks like his entire presidency.) Or maybe he’s given up even pretending he … Read more

White House Bergdahl Spin is Just More B.S.

bergdahl va no one left behindYesterday’s White House Bergdahl spin is just more B.S.

The Obama administration told senators it didn’t notify Congress about the pending swap of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five Taliban officials because of intelligence the Taliban might kill him if the deal was made public.

Allahpundit noticed problem number one, from the New York Times, May 9, 2012:

The parents of the only American soldier held captive by Afghan insurgents have broken a yearlong silence about the status of their son, abruptly making public that he is a focus of secret negotiations between the Obama administration and the Taliban over a proposed prisoner exchange.

The negotiations, currently stalled, involved a trade of five Taliban prisoners held at the American military prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl of the Army, who is believed to be held by the militant Haqqani network in the tribal area of Pakistan’s northwest frontier, on the Afghan border.

Then John Sexton noticed this Associated Press report from June 20, 2013, roughly one year ago:

Andrew Hemingway – NH Needs Creative Solutions

Union Leader – NH needs creative solutions… It is time we start looking at our budget process in a different way. Putting a little bandage on a giant wound doesn’t heal it; it just hides the wound for a moment. That has been our state’s approach to our budget woes the past 10 years. If … Read more

High-Capacity Magazine Bans – No Hinderance to Mass Shooters

When the only people with weapons are the bad guys, at that point, what difference does a high capacity magazine ban make?  None. AWR Hawkins On June 4, the Los Angeles Times reported that Elliot Rodger fired more than 50 rounds of ammunition while killing three people with a gun, even though he was only … Read more

Best News I’ve Heard All Day…

Michael Moore is heading to divorce court, which is sad.  The trial will probably be a messy public spectacle.  But this pull quote made me very happy. Moore, 60, and Glynn, 56, were married nearly 23 years ago and have no children. Anytime some hypocritical, one-prercenter, lying, liberal dirtbag makes themself a genetic dead-end, the … Read more
