There are hearings today on HB 587 (gender transition) and HB 478 (discrimination based on gender identity). The former is a bad bill from last year recycled. The latter could result in your daughters, sisters, or wives having to share bathrooms and locker rooms with guys claiming to be girls.

Cornerstone Policy Research has some points to consider.

As we reported in Cornerstone’s February 17 legislative update, bills on “conversion therapy” and gender identity will have their hearings on Tuesday, February 21, at the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs Committee in rooms 305-307 of the Legislative Office Building in Concord.

HB 587 (hearing at 10 a.m.) would prohibit persons licensed to provide counseling services from engaging in “conversion therapy” with a person under 18 years of age in an attempt to alter the patient/client’s sexual orientation. The bill carries a penalty of professional sanctions for the offending counselor.

HB 478 (1:15 p.m.) would add gender identity to the list of protected classes covered by New Hampshire’s anti-discrimination law., treating it in the same manner as race, religion, and national origin. The bill defines “gender identity” as “a person’s gender-related identity, appearance or behavior, whether or not that gender-related identity, appearance or behavior is different from that traditionally associated with the person’s physiology or assigned sex at birth….”

These are public hearings. Your opinion on these bills will be very important to the committee, and you’ll find contact information for each member at the end of this message. Your attendance at the hearings could make a difference. The committee is preparing for a crowd.

Last year, HB1661 attempted to make this a punishable offense.

If your child (anyone under the age of 18) has wondered whether or not they are, in fact, heterosexual it could be illegal under HB 1661 for any “professional” to counsel them in any way that would encourage that–for lack of a better word–journey to their biological roots. 

It may not have been written with that intention but since when did that matter? This year’s version is HB587, and it is no different. A heterosexual child curious about the “gender spectrum” cannot receive counseling under HB587 that encourages that outcome to the slightest possible detriment of any other.

Yesterday it was HB350. Today HB 201, AN ACT requiring background checks for commercial firearms sales. To quote Representative John Burt,

Through this conflated language, this bill would shut down firearm sales and training in New Hampshire by making the process so complicated and expensive that none could comply.

Oakland Schools have partnered with Social Justice Enviro Wacko Group Friends of the Earth (FOE) to promote the Green Agenda™ through the lunch menu.

FOE gave kids a lunch menu designed to eliminate foods it says are “unsustainable for our planet.” The new menu features far less meat and more plant-based food. Any meat or cheese the school did use came from “pastured, organic dairy cows.” The student’s lunch menu went from beef hot dogs and pepperoni pizza to vegan stir fry tofu and vegan tostadas. The new FOE-approved menu served meat and cheese-less frequently and reduced the portion sizes.

The legislature passed SB12 allowing carrying concealed loaded firearms without a license. This bill is seriously flawed due to the words “possession” and “firearm.” The legal and technical meanings of these words are the problem. All handguns are firearms but not all firearms are handguns. Possession by a minor is not the same as selling to a minor. The difference is who is doing the prohibited act.

The bill says a license will have to be issued to an applicant who is not prohibited by New Hampshire or federal statute from “possessing a firearm.”

In November 2012 there was some vote fraud. I know Democrats (including Democrats registered as Republicans) are denying it, but it is true. People who should not have voted from inside and outside the swing state of New Hampshire came here and voted, again. Democrats conspired and planned it, statewide. (And now Republicans are helping them cover it up.)

HB350, AN ACT prohibiting possession of a firearm at a polling place, just died on the floor of the New Hampshire House. By a vote of 204 to 144 on a committee recommendation of inexpedient to legislate, a bill designed to solve a problem that didn’t exist met its proper end.

One Republican voted with Democrats in an effort to save this bad bill. Fifteen Democrats voted with Republicans to kill HB350.
