Could New Hampshire’s Bathroom Bill Kill Job Growth?

Target Bathroom Bill killed business
Could HB478, New Hampshire’s latest bathroom bill, keep businesses away? It is a worthy question.

We know that sexual predators will inevitably try to take advantage of unbridled access to ladies changing rooms and bathrooms. It is a given that religious organizations will be at risk of having to face penalties or follow their faith. But what about the economics? Target instituted a system-wide transgender “bathroom bill” of its own last year, and the economic consequences for the company have been brutal.

Economic Moron Revisited – Soda Tax Costing Jobs as Sales Plummet

Jim-KenneyIf you have not been following the economics 101 lesson produced and directed by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, please pay attention. Kenney and his merry band of  Municipal thieves attempted to raise revenue with a massive wholesale tax increase on sugary beverages. They sold it as a way to fund pre-k and public park restoration. But it’s not going as the planners planned.

Two months into the city’s sweetened-beverage tax, supermarkets and distributors are reporting a 30 percent to 50 percent drop in beverage sales and are planning for layoffs.

One of the city’s largest distributors says it will cut 20 percent of its workforce in March, and an owner of six ShopRite stores in Philadelphia says he expects to shed 300 workers this spring.

Starbucks’ Brand Perception Plummets After Announcing Plan to Hire Refugees

Starbucks Brand Perception takes a Yuge hit
Starbucks Brand Perception takes a Yuge hit

I’ve been getting some decent traffic from Facebook, but nothing compares to an article I wrote about Syrian Refugees coming to New Hampshire. If you want someone’s attention, write about illegal immigration or refugee resettlement. The jobs and economy narratives are good too, but I think we all know why Mr. Trump won the White House.

Starbucks didn’t get the memo.

(Yahoo! Finance)  Starbucks’ brand has taken a beating since the company announced plans to hire 10,000 refugees worldwide in the next five years in response to Donald Trump’s executive order intended to prevent refugees from entering the US.

University Bans White Boards on Dorm Room Doors Because – ‘Snowflakes’

militant-snowflakeMichigan State has banned white boards on dorm room doors because – Racism.

(Kat Cooper, director of university residential services communications) said that racist, sexist or other potentially discriminatory messages are referred to the Office for Institutional Equity, where they are investigated. But because the offensive whiteboard notes are often left anonymously, 99 percent of the time, the university can’t pin down who was responsible, she said.

“It’s a drain on resources. … We’re spending a ton of time and energy administrating it,” Cooper told Heat Street.

Here’s an idea.

NH House Committee Approves Bill that Could Give Sexual Predators Access to Women’s Bathrooms and Locker Rooms

Transgender bathroomA New Hampshire House Committee just advanced legislation that will give sexual predators unfettered access to your wives and daughters, and sisters and mothers, in bathrooms and locker rooms all across the state.

The bill adds ‘gender identity’ alongside age, race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, marital status, or national origin, and that is all well and good. But HB478 does not distinguish where it comes to access to public facilities. It gives any man (with the desire to do so) access to ladies bathrooms and locker-rooms and makes it illegal to prohibit them or to remove them.
