The Candia School Board is meeting on Thursday, June 1st and one of the items up for consideration is a change to the current ‘transgender policy.’ A policy that was hastily implemented when the Obama Administration was doing some social-justice saber-rattling. Threatening funding for schools if the yokel locals didn’t buy in.

The board looks like it could be prepared to roll that decision back, but a national group funded by millionaires and billionaires, operating in New Hampshire under cover of local activism, is bringing pressure to bear to stop any reversal.

Back on May 17th, the New Hampshire Senate Ways and Means Committee produced revenue estimates $14 million below what the House handed to them.

By May 21st, they had changed their mind.

In an unusual move, the Senate Ways and Means Committee opted to revisit the revenue estimates for the General and Education Trust Funds they had decided and voted upon individually on May 17. The Committee concurred with the House Ways and Means Committee revenue projections for the Fish and Game Fund, and adopted the projections from the Governor’s proposed budget for the Highway Fund.

Clock-Boy Ahmed Mohammed is in the news again. His family sued his school district, the school principal, and city officials for discrimination over his “treatment” after he brought a hoax bomb (sorry, a clock) to school. A Federal judge in Northern Texas has thrown out the case.

On Thursday, Judge Sam Lindsay of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas granted the defendants’ motion to dismiss the lawsuit, saying the plaintiffs had failed to prove officials discriminated against Mohamed.

Their mission is to oppose Donald Trump’s agenda and to agitate and organize for the purpose. My first thought was, Democrats, can’t do anything without a union or some other progressive billionaire funding them so who is writing the checks?

The State of Massachusetts is considering a tax on sugary drinks.  OK. Go for it.

Every jurisdiction that has imposed their progressive will in this manner has seen a drop in sales and jobs, which migrate just beyond the reach of said tax. I’m no geographer and I don’t play one on the internet, but I can read a map and if people go “outside the reach” of the Massachusetts soda tax, well, that’s New Hampshire.

Seabrook Station produces about 1/2 of NH’s electricity at the cost of about 2.5, cents/kWh, before taxes, per the Energy Information Agency.

There are several small hydro plants that produce power at about 1.3 cents/kWh (approx. 100 MWs).

Because of increased regulations, we are not certain the cost of electricity generated by fossil, but in 2015 the National average was 3.7 cents.

Transmission costs from Canada to Concord, NH is 4 cents/kWh. Therefore, the cost to deliver power to everyone in NH from NH generators can not be more than 3 cents (PSNH claimed their cost was 2 cents). So let’s assume that the average cost of electricity is a high of 3.5 cents and delivery to your meter is 3 cents for a total cost of 6.5 cents.

Sununu says “lots of pieces to the puzzle.” Apparently, he isn’t capable of comprehending when he tells me “not enough transmission lines.” Most of the cost of electricity above 6 cents (at your meter) is the results of meddling by the legislators and taxation by municipalities.

There are so many sorts of sexism these days it can be difficult to keep up.

Much like the legislative sprawl that leads to your being guilty of breaking some law you never knew about, meaning you are always guilty of something, being a sexist pig is as easy as saying that there are so many sorts of sexism that it can be difficult to keep up.

But what kind of sexism is this?

Bruce Jenner, who liked dressing up as a woman in private decided (perhaps encouraged is a better word) to do so in public. He then chose the name Caitlyn for the Bruce who dresses like a stereotypical (which should also be sexist) woman in public. And now the name Caitlyn has tumbled out of favor.

The New Hampshire Coastal Adaptation Workgroup is a coalition of trough-feeding universities, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, and other interested environmental parties that have collected a reported $5 million in grants, a chunk of them from their biggest government sponsor, NOAA. They claim a long list of priorities which seem reasonably sane on the surface until you grasp the underlying motivation.
