Massachusetts Taxes Ride-Sharing to Pay Off Taxi Companies

Last year Massachusetts passed a law taxing ride-sharing services. A portion of the fee, according to the law, is diverted to Taxi companies, to develop “new technologies and advanced service, safety and operational capabilities.” The law levies a 20-cent fee in all, with 5 cents for taxis, 10 cents going to cities and towns and the … Read more

NBC 4 Ohio Shows Destructive Power of an AR-15 Except…That’s Not an AR-15!

https://youtu.be/KXL3X4UR5R0 (Bearing Arms) Journalist, as a species, aren’t gun people. This was clear the moment USA Today decided to illustrate the possible accessories for the AR-15 and included the chainsaw bayonet, for crying out loud, if at no other point before. However, an Ohio television station decided to go even further in showing us just how little they … Read more

Making the Sausage (Revisited)

Grammar Obi Wan KenobiEllen Kolb shared this on Facebook because Facebook not only never forgets, it reminds you. It’s a post I wrote in November of 2010, about my blogging process from “idea to digital page.” The opening paragraph reveals the thrust of the piece.

One of my readers did me the honor of pointing out a grammatical error I had made in a post, not once, but four times. He politely explained the issue, while pointing out that he still appreciates my work. For my part, I knew the rule, but sometimes it’s not quite that simple.

What follows is a ride I enjoy every time I read it. An expression of a process burdened by the limitations I’d like to think I have since (mostly) overcome. And while it may not be the best thing I’ve ever written, anyone who has ever thought themselves a blogger or a writer could enjoy it. So here it is, in its entirety, because I need to post something today and haven’t anything else ready to share.

Seems Legit

One of many running jokes or memes on the internet is ‘seems legit.’ You take a picture of something, like the image above on the left, and play to the apparent horror of accepting what it says without fear of consequence. What could go wrong? Which made me think of liberals, so I added the … Read more

Reminder: No Arctic Ice, Manhattan Underwater, and All 1200 Maldives GONE in Six Weeks

what-manhattan-will-look-like-if-sea-levels-riseExperts have been saying things for years that have turned out to be false but only recently have they demanded millions in taxpayer dollars (year after year) and an unimpeachable devotion to the scientism of the Climate Cult, despite them and their models being wrong about everything.

With that in mind, we remind you that as 2018 approaches that “experts” –including well-heeled perennial chicken-little James Hansen of NASA–predicted the end of the Arctic Ice Cap (again), and massive floods in Manhattan by 2018. And since we’re on the subject, the UN (which has lots of experts) told us the Maldives would be underwater by 2018 which is six weeks, give or take.

Local Media Reports a Majority of “NH Residents Support Gas Tax Increase” When They Don’t

NH Gas tax payerIn two separate reports feeding off the same research, Fosters.com and the New Hampshire Business Review lead with headlines declaring support for a gas tax increase in New Hampshire. “UNH research: NH residents support gas tax hike.”

But do they? Nope. In fact, according to the cited report, a majority oppose them.

The NHBR article reports that “more than 60 percent say they would support a 10-cent increase in the state gas tax if it were needed to maintain the state’s highways and bridges.” Fosters does the same. But that’s incorrect. Sixty-one percent of one-fifth of the respondents to the survey support a ten-cent tax.

The Carsey Report explains the methodology that both NHBR and Fosters overlooked.

Alabama ABC Affiliate Can’t Find One Voter Who Believes WaPo Report About Roy Moore

Roy Moore Senate candidateThe Washington Post dropped a hit-piece last week, but it’s starting to look like the Washington Post is the one who took the hit.

Steve Bannon Questions Voter Integrity in New Hampshire

Steve Bannon - 603 Alliance Fundraiser

The Liberals are losing their minds over Steve Bannon’s visit to New Hampshire, and between calling everyone white supremacists and ignoring their own hate, the sharpest thorn in their paw (at the moment) are his widely (only partially) reported remarks about voter integrity in the Granite State.

The actual remarks are only about three minutes long but the media still managed to cherry pick the details. Thankfully, we’ve got the full audio and video, and we can share his complete remarks.
