On Meet The Press today, Steve Schmidt (of the failed McCain campaign) brought out that 43% of Iowa Democrats self identify as Socialists and not as capitalists.  I didn’t know that but it is an eye-popping statistic lending credence that the Democrat Party has gone far more Left than the Republicans have gone  Right.  After all, I have put up the videos of DWS and Hillary unable to tell Chris Matthews what the difference is between those two points on the political spectrum.

And then this (Heh!):  Stephanie Cutter (former deputy campaign manager for Obama):

Iowa has always had, whether they call themselves Socialists or Liberal Democrats, has always had this tremendous liberal strain in the Democrat Party.  It was there in ’08 and it was there in 2012 which is why as an Obama campaign official, we never really pushed too hard back on the socialist arguments that people in your Party were making.

Sidenote: BTW, where DID Superintendent Earl Metzler get all that money for hiring professionals (like  Josh Judge, weatherman with WMUR) to do an infomercial touting a $4.5 million bond as well as the buttons, stickers, and assorted other materials?

Alinsky’s Rules for radicals: “RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.“

Of all the stupidest reasons to “support” a $4.59 10 year million school bond issue, bringing in the notion that we have to build an expensive new building so a sniper can’t pick off kids as they walk the 20 feet from the portable classrooms (which have been there for YEARS) to the main building has to be leading the pack.  Yeah, that’s what you DIDN’T hear when WMUR ran their story (yes, the “journalists of record” can’t get the BIGGEST part of the story right).  What also wasn’t said is that the School Superintendent wants “more building” with a declining enrollment. You can listen to the ENTIRE Budget Committee meeting here for the entire context (not embeddable sorry).  And yes, you do need to listen starting around 38 minutes in and listen why people like Jorge are needed by taxpayers.  And then listen to the part that WMUR left out at 46:41.  NONE of his fellow budget committee members, when Jorge mentions what the School Board “infomercial” said got up in arms.  NONE of those in attendance raised an issue.

And here is what WMUR put up from that video – SEE how they “conveniently” leave out the reference to the School Board infomercial that led to this (again, not embeddable – cheapskates; NH1 has a post but I can’t get it to play)

You see, context matters (but not to WMUR).  And then these spouters of the stupidest reason of all go beserk when somebody has the temerity to MOCK them using their own argument and word choice?  How outlandish, how divisive, how violent, how UnPC!  Don’t you understand that WE have the moral high ground because SNIPERS!  Sheesh.  Morons, all.  And then watching WMUR last nite, well, they are now complicit in this.

UPDATE: We have Jorge Mesa-Tejeda on GrokTALK! right now.  A smoking gun?  It looks like Josh Judge, weatherman with WMUR, did the voice over for Superintendent Earl Metzler’s informercial for the school bond.  Guess they may have some ‘splainin’ to do. And part of the pique that Earl Metzler may have is that both Hampstead and Sandown want to leave his “lovely fiefdom” – thus the retaliation against Jorge as he is against the increased spending for a declining enrollment.

Having watched the Hampstead Budget committee and being very curious as to why WMUR’s Kristen Carosa left out such an important piece of the story (er, the School Board’s infomercial for their $4.5 million dollar bond issue was the first mentioning a sniper picking off school kids).  Regular readers know that I do watch them and watch them with an eye to journalistic bias and their willingness to not always report “the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth”.  And truth be told, when it happens to one of my friends, well, I want to find that truth.

Especially if you consider yourself being part of the “responsible, pragmatic” wing of the Party as you contemplate why, why, WHY your candidates are tanking; you have brought us upon yourselves:

Thanks to Donald Trump, American elites are finally paying attention to blue-collar, white America. They do not like what they see. Racist. Bigoted. Irrational. Angry. How many times have you read or heard one or more of these words used to describe Trump’s followers? Whether they are the academic, media, and entertainment elites of the Left or the political and business elites of the Right, America’s self-appointed best and brightest uniformly view the passions unleashed by Trump as the modern-day equivalent of a medieval peasants’ revolt. And, like their medieval forebears, they mean to crush it.

That effort is both a fool’s errand for the country and a poisoned chalice for conservatives and Republicans. It is foolish because the reasons the peasants are revolting will not fade easily. Ignoring and ridiculing their concerns, the way European elites have done with their own electorates for most of the last two decades, will simply intensify the masses’ rage and ensure that their political spokesmen become more intransigent and radical. If you want an American version of Marine Le Pen tomorrow, ignore the legitimate concerns of blue-collar Americans today.

This may get interesting – the master of the media and celebrityhood vs the number one debater: Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.  Certainly, anyone that catches The Donald’s ire and has tried to fire back has dropped in the polls like the proverbial lead balloon (seeing that none of them have the Mythbuster’s lead balloon that actually floated).  Now that Ted has caught and surpassed him in Iowa (mostly, during the last month), the Trump cross-hairs were re-focused and the onslaught began.  Up to now, Ted’s been fairly lighthearted with his comebacks; this one get a wee bit deeper in the calling out of Cruz’s birth circumstances (born of an American mother in Calgary, Canada):

(CRUZ): I will say that it’s more than a little strange to see Donald relying on as authoritative a liberal, left-wing, judicial activist Harvard Law professor who is a huge Hillary supporter (Ed. note – Laurence Tribe). It starts to make you think, “Gosh, why are some of Hillary’s strongest supporters backing Trump?” You know, the last couple of elections the Democrats have gotten the nominee they wanted to run against in the general election. It seems the Hillary folks are very eager to support Donald Trump and the attacks that are being tossed my direction.

“The NH Progressive has the unique habit of cursing New Hampshire while they enjoy the quality of life directly attributable to its population and culture.”

Recently I happened upon a delightful opinion piece in one of the local daily papers that epitomizes the mindset of that particular virulent form of Leftist called the ‘New Hampshire Progressive’. This article is replete with the holy trinity of Progressivism; anti-gun, anti-Christian and anti-white. It serves as an excellent example of what I term ‘progressive porn’ which has unfortunately become more and more pervasive in the NH media as of late. It also contains the typical mudslinging and unsubstantiated allegations that one has come to expect from the extremist Left in our country. However the article exhibits something more, it reveals the ugly face of the ‘New Hampshire Progressive’. This letter is blatantly defamatory toward white Christian males painting them as the central cause of mass incidents of gun violence. Strangely enough the author happens to live in a predominantly white, Christian and overwhelmingly Pro-Second Amendment state. I can only imagine the burden she must be enduring to live in such a hell on earth.

Thank you, President Obama for your bold move through executive orders to try to put some sanity into our gun laws. As we have heard from every president in recent history, Republican and Democrat alike, a president’s most important role as chief executive is to secure the safety and well-being of the citizens of this country. ABC dumps Union Leader; Trump claims credit

MANCHESTER — Donald Trump immediately took credit for getting the New Hampshire Union Leader dropped from an upcoming Republican debate being produced in partnership with ABC News, drawing condemnation from the paper’s publisher. “I am pleased to announce that I had the Union Leader removed from the upcoming debate,” Trump tweeted Sunday afternoon, minutes after the newspaper was told by an ABC News executive they were going to “split ways.”

The debate, scheduled for Feb. 6 from the campus of St. Anselm College, is the only time Republicans will meet head-to-head in the Granite State.

This Sunday’s version of This Week with George Stephanopoulus had this absolutely clarifying snippet of why the Establishment Republican “aren’t getting it”.  US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is the highest elected Republican in the US – one would think that he would as least acknowledge that the base is ticked and that perhaps, perhaps, the Party ought to be listening to it.  So I was rather startled (ok, maybe not so much – almost expected it) his answer.

Steph: You see Donald Trump at the top of the primary field. Senator Cruz has called you a liar. Trump has accused you and Speaker Ryan of gross incompetance. They seem to be tapping into a real anger at the Republican leadership out there in the country. What does it say to you that they are the front runners of the race right now

McConnell: It says that we ought to do our work that the American people were elected us to do and let the Presidential race play out.

Umm, no.  Again, it reinforces what I (and many others) have been saying – I think you have that exactly backwards: you have brought Trump (& Cruz) upon you yourselves.  Here it is, starkly – the insurgents (e.g., Trump, Cruz, and to a lesser degree, Fiorina) are succeeding BECAUSE the truth is the OPPOSITE of what McConnell said.

It COULDN’T be those millions of military aged Muslim men, could it?  After all, they MUST have as much respect for our Western mores, our culture(s), and our way of life, right?  Why ELSE would they have left their home countries, their families, their wives, and their children?  Andrew McCarthy, a respected security expert, over at National Review has a take on those questions – here’s his real take (longish) on the issue:

In the spirit of multiculturalism, I have such a code just off the shelf (on which rests The Grand Jihad, in which I outlined it a few years back). It goes like this:

To be absolved from guilt, the raped woman must have shown some sort of good conduct . . . Islam addresses women to maintain their modesty, so as not to open the door for evil . . . The Koran calls on Muslim women in general to preserve their dignity and modesty, just to save themselves from any harassment. So for a rape victim to be absolved from guilt, she must not be the one that opens . . . her dignity for deflowering.
