Everyone associated with the peaceful Bundy Ranch or Oregon Refuge “standoffs” was collected, arrested, and jailed without bail. After months of incarceration, despite a long list of charges, the government still had no case so they tried to get any or all of defendants to sign plea-bargains admitting guilt.

That actually didn’t work out. Defendants refused or were convinced that the government had no case. So the Feds finally put the Oregon defendants on trial for conspiracy and firearms charges. The jury found them not guilty.

We expect (hope for) a similar outcome with regard to the Bundy Ranch arrests, one of whom is Jerry DeLemus, still in jail in Nevada without bail on fabricated charges whose only purpose is to use the power of government to intimidate political opponents.

Remember when Marco Rubio drank some water while giving the Republican response to the president’s 2013 State of the Union address? Remember how CNN ran a picture of the Florida Senator taking his sip with a chyron reading: “Career Ender”? “So can a drink of water make or break a political career?” Wolf Blitzer asked. Politico ran more than one column discussing Rubio’s “water thing.” Most other major (read Democrat) news venues covered it too.

So my question is this, if a drink of water threatens the career of a Republican, what happens when a former Democrat congressman makes sexual Twitter advances to a minor causing the FBI to seize the computer of his wife, the Democrat presidential candidate’s aide and a woman with ties to radical Islam, and the said computer is found to contain emails that potentially exposed classified information to our enemies so that said candidate could hide her likely influence peddling? Worse than a sip of water? Better?

I’ve put up lots of polls of which Party most journalist support (the Democrats).  Same thing on which candidate and Party to which they give their political donations.  Democrats and the Democrat Party, plain and simple.  And now, the consumers of their product(s) believe the message they’ve been sending (emphasis mine, reformatted):

The October 27 article elaborated on how even a solid majority of Clinton supporters also realize journalists want Clinton to win: “That includes 82% of Trump supporters and 74% of Clinton supporters. Six in 10 Trump supporters say the news media is coordinating stories with individual campaigns, rather than acting on its own accord. Three in 10 of Clinton supporters feel that way.”

The Democrats and D friendly judges keep rendering the Legislature’s attempts to tighten up our own NH State’s voting laws so as to make sure only those that are entitled to vote here in NH actually cast votes and it all centers around the word “domocile”.  Not going to recap all that’s been written here except to say when I read what is going on in Minnesota, I immediate thought of it.  Same thing, differently – except there it is about letting felons vote (emphasis mine, reformatted):

Minnesota Secretary of State and county election managers are being sued by election judges who claim the 2016 Minnesota Election Judge Guide requires them to violate state election laws. The lawsuits were filed today in Hennepin, Ramsey and St. Louis Counties by three election judges who are requesting an injunction relieving them from having to provide ballots to people who are listed as felons, people under guardianship and noncitizens.

State law establishes a detailed procedure to match felons, people under guardianship and noncitizens against the list of people who have registered to vote in the statewide voter registration system. In the case of a match, county auditors are required to change the voter status of any registered voters who are determined to be felons, under guardianship or noncitizens.

But according to instructions from the Secretary of State, election officials must allow felons, people under guardianship and noncitizens who are identified as such on the poll roster to vote anyway, so long as they take an oath claiming they are eligible to vote.

OPEC is desperate to see oil prices go up and so is Russia (both the latter and the Sauds are on a real downward trend on their financial reserves) so I’m not surprised about this.  However, there’s one phrase in this that makes no sense at all (emphasis mine, reformatted) and includes the US fracking industry:

Saudis, Gulf OPEC Members Offer To Cut 4% Of Oil Output

Just when a potential OPEC deal was looking more like wishful thinking than a reality, sources told Reuters on Thursday that Saudi Arabia and its Gulf OPEC producer allies had signaled that they would be ready to cut their near record crude oil production by 4 percent. According to the Reuters sources, the energy ministers from the Gulf countries told Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak last Sunday in Riyadh that they would be willing to cut. Novak, on the other hand, told the Gulf ministers that Russia would not cut, but rather freeze its crude oil output at its current level.

The Saudis and their Gulf OPEC allies are expected to table the offer to cut 4 percent of output until a meeting on October 28 and 29, when OPEC and non-OPEC producers, including Russia, will discuss details of the deal-to-make-a-deal they had reached in Algiers last month.

Donald Trump supporter in Iowa arrested for voter fraud as Trump continues to call election ‘rigged’ against him

And the first arrest for attempted voter fraud in the 2016 election goes to a Donald Trump supporter in Iowa. Terri Rote, 55, was arrested on first-degree election misconduct charges after trying to vote for the GOP nominee at two separate polling stations in Des Moines Thursday, according to the Des-Moines Register.

Actually, I think that the first instance is really just another in a rolling series of incidents but I bet it wasn’t in Iowa even as the extremely partisan NY Daily News really wants it to be a GOP/Trump one.

Our Progressive Ruling Class: “Investments – we can do ANYTHING with your money! Yeah, I know – including lying about what “investment” means – yet another instance of redefining the common language to further an ideological agenda which in this case is a crass attempt to make you think that government NEVER “spends” your money but “invests”.  And then uses crazy means to artificially create an “ROI” that I just shake my head at. Interesting fact that I didn’t know over at Anti-Planner(reformatted, emphasis mine):

According to the Congressional Budget Office, the federal deficit in 2016 was $590 billion. But the federal debt in 2016 grew by $1.4 trillion. That means the debt grew by about $800 billion more than the deficit. How can that be? The answer is that Congress uses all kinds of accounting tricks to pretend that money it borrows isn’t part of the deficit. You can read a complete list of those accounting tricks in an article by Dr. Lacy Hunt (you’ll have to get a free subscription to John Mauldin’s newsletter to read the article, which is well worth doing if you are at all interested in macroeconomic issues).

From the Antiplanner’s point of view, the most important accounting trick is that some spending from borrowed money is regarded as “an investment,” and so isn’t counted in the deficit. This includes student loans and highway and transit spending. In 2016, Congress borrowed $70 billion to pay for highways and transit, yet that isn’t included in the $590 billion deficit.

A 74-year-old woman tasked with opening envelopes sent by Miami-Dade County voters with their completed mail ballots was arrested Friday after co-workers caught her illegally marking ballots, resulting in an unknown — but small — number of fraudulent votes being cast for mayoral candidate Raquel Regalado. Investigators linked Gladys Coego, a temporary worker for the county elections department, to two fraudulent votes, but they suspect from witness testimony that she submitted several more.
