Back in 1975, one of the stupidest fads swept the US and made its “inventor” (marketeer?) a millionaire.  That was the “Pet Rock” and he sold millions (yes, MILLIONS) of these inanimate objects as pets – at $3.95 a whack.  It came, made a buzz about rocks, and then disappeared as quickly as it showed up on the scene.

Well, just like Hollywood’s issue of running out of any kind of original idea (really, bringing back The Karate Kid as a TV series 30 years later??), so has the Pet Rock.  Except now, with all things being “Tactical” (or “tacticool” as some deriders rightly hold), so has the Pet Rock – but now dressed in black:

The GOP ran on “repeal and replace” and raised millions of dollars from individual donors who believed in this promise. Politicians aren’t used to having to actually deliver on what they say on the campaign trail, but a Virginia attorney has filed suit against the Republican National Committee over the party’s failure to repeal and replace.

There’s always a reaction when promises aren’t kept.  I’ve held for a while that we ought to be treating politics not as a separate entity but as another facet of the Marketplace.  You want me to spend my political currency (i.e., my Vote) with you, you need to make the case that you are worth it.  My Vote is very precious and rare, and I don’t wish to waste it on a sub-par product (as that is what a candidate is writ small and what a political party like the GOP is writ large).  I’d rather NOT spend it if what the GOP is offering for a product is flawed, not up to par, or can reach my standard of excellence.  And as a number of political wannabee candidates have found out, my ire has ramifications with other like minded conservatives and libertarians here in NH.

Look, if we purchase an inferior product in the marketplace, we have redress protocols available to us courtesy of these same politicians.  Many are

One of the features of their growing power is the phenomenon of “engineering education” programs and schools. They have sought out the soft underbelly of engineering, where phrases such as “diversity” and “different perspectives” and “racial gaps” and “unfairness” and “unequal outcomes” make up the daily vocabulary. Instead of calculating engine horsepower or microchip power/size ratios or aerodynamic lift and drag, the engineering educationists focus on group representation, hurt feelings, and “microaggressions” in the profession.

If my car breaks down, that bridge fails, the light switch only operates in off mode (be it the switch, the bulb, or power source), or my computer no longer computes, *I’LL* show you a MEGA-microaggression and I will dang guarantee you that there WILL be hurt feelings.

President Donald Trump’s senior adviser Stephen Miller said Trump’s new skills-based RAISE Act immigration proposal that benefits American workers is yet another example of how Trump favors the working class over the investment class…Miller said. “This is a major promise to the American people.”

Not desired by the Elites and Establishment but US Senators Tom Cotton (R-LA) and David Perdue (R-GA) are delivering what I believe is the kind of immigration reform that is needed.  It is, however, 180 degrees away from what the GOPe, US Chamber of Commerce, and the Democrats believe was their “right” to have.  And what is that, you ask?  What the Bush and Obama Administrations gave us, for the most part – mass immigration via almost open borders with chain migration.  Thanks Ted “Swimmer” Kennedy as he changed immigration for the worse in 1965 (and we’ve had two mass amnesty gimme’s already) an famously infamously said “[O]ur cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually … Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset.”.  Yeah, that held up well, didn’t it?

We have interviewed Lt. Col Allen West in the past and were MOST impressed by this straight backed, straight talking man. I generally don’t abstract a whole post but I certainly agree with West. Progressives hate our Republic form of governance as they knew/know what our Founders knew – a direct democracy has always failed – which is why Progressives have always worked to move away from our original Constitutional checks and balances.  From CNSNews (emphasis ine):

Since the state and local governments have often refused to look at the problem, individuals upset with this government failure to protect their votes have gotten their own project together to start cross-matching voter information – and it is starting to pay off (and a Hat Tip to the ‘Grok’s own (and Chair of CNHT) Ed Naile for doing a lot of the networking and info gathering here in NH). The Government Accountability Institute (GAI) discovered that “thousands of votes in the 2016 election were illegal duplicate votes from people who registered and voted in more than one state.”  GAI used lists of public voter data from only 21 states to match names birthdays and social security numbers to find 8,471 votes from 2016 were duplicated. You can estimate the number of fraudulent votes based on all 50 states and the GAI conservatively estimated that to be around 45,000. 45,000 duplicate votes.

Yep, that lasted long short.  Anthony Scaramucci, who sold his very successful NY financial firm, became Trump’s Communications Director just 10 days ago.  His claim to fame, forever more, will be his wallpaper ripping, foul mouth self-introduction to the White House staff. Today, US Marine General John Kelly (and Marines are world class in 4 letter word utterances) became Trump’s Chief of Staff.

I bet when the Mooch ran into Kelly, he bounced backwards and landed on his gluteus maximus. Hard.  And then ust slouched outward.  Big mouth met Big Man.
