Two levels of government have the responsibility, authority, and capability to protect the citizens of San Francisco from illegal aliens.  Currently these are the Democrat controlled City Government and the Democrat, President Obama, controlled Federal Government.  Both governments failed to protect Kathryn Steinle from being murdered by a habitual felon and repeatedly deported illegal alien who was in San Francisco because it’s one of America’s 276 “sanctuary” cities.

Most Americans only know about Kathryn’s murder because Donald Trump created a firestorm by talking about the harm done to our country and to millions of Americans by illegal aliens.

Trump’s comments are still being condemned by the politically correct crowd who try to shut down anyone, any talk, or anything that threatens their political objectives, their favored special interests, and the Washington elite.

Kathryn Steinle shouldn’t be dead.  Joshua Wilkerson, Mirta Rivera, Casey Chadwick, Rodney Johnson, Javier Vega Jr., Jamiel Shaw Jr., and over 25,000 more Americans shouldn’t be dead either.  They were all killed by illegal aliens who shouldn’t have been here.

Those Americans died and millions of others were raped, robbed, battered, kidnapped, impoverished, or otherwise victimized because greedy Washington Democrat and Republican politicians and special interest groups care more about their own power and wealth than the well-being of the American people.

Illegal immigration beneficiaries repeatedly lie about its benefits for our country, e.g., doing jobs Americans won’t do, law-abiding, tax-paying, etc.

American workers do all jobs: waiters, housekeeping, crop picking, garbage collecting, ditch digging, construction, cleaning-out septic tanks, etc.  The vast majority of workers in all but a very few job categories are American citizens.  More Americans would be working and self-supporting if immigrants didn’t take jobs and drive down wages.

Everyone regrets the killing of Cecil, a majestic lion.  The law-breakers should be prosecuted.  But the outrage and viciousness of the attacks on those involved is puzzling.

Some of the outrage is simply because the pictures show Cecil as a benign and magnificent animal, not as the bully and killer that he was.  But mostly we react because, as civilized humans, we believe in the rule of law, have a sense of morality, and respect for majestic animals.

Seeing the outrage over a lion’s killing, one has to wonder, where is the outrage at much worse offenses against American citizens?

Despite knowing of the “Progressive” (actually socialist) domination in most American Colleges and Universities, I was shocked at the absolute fantasy worldview presented in Brandeis University Professor Kuttner’s article (as described in Tom Dawson’s letter of 4/8/15 in the Laconia Daily Sun, laconiadailysun.com).  Parents who pay for their children to be “educated” by such professors are being cheated, as are their children.

Aside from factual errors such as “higher education was free” in the 1950-60s and other false Democrat Party talking points, Kuttner’s article is simply a partisan attack against Republicans and promotion of socialist ideas which have never improved the lives of most people.  In fact, Socialist governments created poverty and suffering for billions of people, and murdered at least 100 million people.

Six years of President Obama’s policies interfering in our economy in ways that Kuttner approves have created a stagnant economy which is disastrous for most Americans.  Median incomes are down about 4% while taxes and the cost of living increased, middle class wealth is down by about 40%, a lower percent of our people are actually working, and more Americans live in poverty and need government assistance to survive.  But, Obama’s policies have done very well for rich people.

For all my life “Progressive” policies have made the rich richer but most Americans poorer.  Politicians who really cared about non-rich Americans would abandon “Progressive” policies.

I was amused by June M. Huot’s letter of April 14, 2015 in the Laconia Daily Sun (laconiadailysun.com) requesting information about the TEA Party and making so many false assertions.

First, each TEA Partier speaks for him/herself or perhaps their local group, no one person or group speak for “The TEA Party” which is a movement of millions of Americans in thousands of individual groups.

We believe that our Federal Government today is bought (with political support) by special interest groups which have no concern for most Americans, or for the security and prosperity of our nation.

We believe that today’s bought government is responsible for most of our nation’s and our citizens’ problems and that returning to government that works for all Americans requires adherence to certain principles including the rule of law, personal responsibility, fiscal responsibility, and small, Constitutionally limited government.

Stalin reportedly said, “One death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic.”  As experts of managing the media, Democrats can use the suffering of a few people to advance their power while diverting attention from the harm their policies inflict on most Americans.

In her letter of March 17 in the Laconia Daily Sun (laconiadailysun.com) June M. Huot makes fun of the fact that most Americans are harmed by illegal aliens because she thinks flooding our country with illegal aliens increases Democrat Party power.

Huot doesn’t care that illegal aliens take jobs and depress wages causing millions of Americans to struggle to support their families.

Huot doesn’t care that illegal alien children take public school resources away from American children reducing their chances for success in life.  Nor is she concerned about the sick American children infected by illegal alien children.

Recent letters in the Laconia Daily Sun (laconiadailysun.com)  from Tom Dawson (3/20 and 3/25) and Tony Boutin (3/26) address an important topic, Right-to-Works Laws.  Dawson argues for compulsory unionization while Boutin argues for “Right-to-Work”.

Dawson makes the absurd claim that forcing workers to join unions empowers workers.  Compulsory unionization doesn’t empower workers; it empowers union bosses and the politicians they support.

Progressives fight for compulsory unionization because most union leadership uses union funds to support Progressive politicians and their progressive political agenda.

In my youth, America was world leader in every aspect of industry, mining, manufacturing, transportation, etc.  American industry provided most American families with comfortable lives on a single income.  Yet as government increasingly grew and implemented progressive policies, new rules and regulations have greatly increased the cost of doing business making companies fail, reduce wages and/or cut jobs, or move jobs overseas.  Jobs that provide high value products or services and thus support good wages have been eliminated increasingly leaving only jobs providing little value which only can provide low wages.

We all agree with Dennis Lintz (see his letter of 3/18/15 in the Laconia Daily Sun, laconiadailysun.com) that we don’t want war with Iran, or anyone, and that we hope for a wise treaty with Iran that prevents them from ever getting nuclear weapons.

Everyone should have learned that preventing an aggressor from becoming powerful is a much wiser and less costly course than not taking small threats seriously.  Consider the consequences of our refusal to believe that radical Islamists were at war with us before 911 or the world’s refusal to believe the threat that Hitler was becoming.

I share Leon R. Albushies’s concern (see his 3/11/15 letter in the Laconia Daily Sun, laconiadailysun.com) about our failing public schools and what that means for our society, freedoms, and prosperity.  Public education has been declining for at least the last 50 years, especially since the Federal Government has increasingly controlled public education.

Why do our public schools provide such poor results?  Are American children less capable than other children before they go to our public schools?  No.  Is funding the issue?  No.  Some schools with the worst results spend $25,000 to $30,000 per student.  Public education costs have increased as fast as healthcare costs, but without improvements.

Our public schools don’t provide better educational results because providing better educations to our children is a lower priority than the self-interests of those in charge of public education, the educational establishment (e.g., teachers colleges, unions, administrators, teachers, government bureaucracy), and Democrat politicians.

Today 257 Congressmen joined 68 Senators and President Obama in stabbing most Americans in the back. To curry favor with their supporters and to benefit themselves, Congress and President Obama are enacting legislation that will make our lives, and the lives of family members and future generations, much more difficult.

If you have a job, this legislation will increase the number of people who can legally compete for your job; that means fewer and lower pay raises and possibly replacement of current employees with people willing to work for lower wages.

If you are looking for a job, this legislation will increase the number of people competing for the job you need to have a shot at your American dream; it will be harder for you to get a job and the pay will be less.

If you have children in public school, this legislation will put more poorly educated, non-English speaking children in our public schools where they will divert teacher attention from your children. And, some of these newcomers will bring contagious, rare, and potentially lethal diseases into the classrooms with your children (they have already and more are coming).

CNN Reports:  “The Justice Department has formally closed its investigation of Ferguson Police officer Darren Wilson, declining to bring criminal charges for the killing of Michael Brown. In a report released Wednesday, prosecutors said that “Wilson’s actions do not constitute prosecutable violations” of federal civil rights law.”

This ends almost seven months of waiting and wondering what the Justice Department would do, what they might trump up.  Hopefully this finally ends Officer Wilson’s ordeal, the Missouri Grand Jury declined to prosecute months ago as every credible witness and the evidence supported Officer Wilson’s description of the sad event.

Republicans overwhelmingly won the 2014 elections to do one thing; to stop President Obama’s policies that are destroying our country economically and militarily, violating our Constitution, and stealing opportunities and freedoms from the American people.

Today Republican Senators and Congressmen are facing their very first opportunity to stop one of President Obama’s destructive policies, amnesty for illegal aliens and it looks like they will ignore their 2014 election mandate and support rather than stop President Obama’s destructive amnesty action.

President Obama’s amnesty harms American workers and taxpayers, it will reward law breakers with billions of taxpayer money, it encourages illegal aliens who commit crimes, is makes a mockery of our laws, it gives the finger to people trying to immigrate legally, is opposed by a majority of the American people, and Republican Senators and Congressmen agree with a Federal Judge that the President’s amnesty is an Unconstitutional usurpation of the Congress’s authority.

If Republicans were to accept and fund this destructive, unconstitutional, and unpopular action, which one of President Obama’s destructive policies will they oppose?

Despite the hysteria, our nation’s security is not at risk if a Homeland Security funding bill is not passed and Homeland Security “shutsdown”.   The services essential to our national security NEVER stop even if their funding runs out; they didn’t stop during previous government shutdowns and they won’t stop during future shutdowns.

Every single job essential to our nation’s security (e.g., Border Control, Coast Guard, FEMA, Secret Service, Domestic Nuclear Detection office), continues without interruption even if the funding hasn’t been passed.

On a bipartisan basis the House of Representatives passed a bill funding every part of Homeland Security except President Obama’s illegal actions granting amnesty to illegal aliens.

The hysteria over the Homeland Security funding bill has been created to blackmail the American people into accepting President Obama’s amnesty for illegal aliens.  Amnesty for illegal aliens makes a mockery of our laws, encourages more illegal immigration, is unjust to people trying to immigrate legally, and hurts American workers, taxpayers, the truly needy, and crime victims.

Do the “Black Lives Matter” protest leaders and supporters actually care about saving or improving black lives or are they just pretending?  Do they promote obeying the law and complying with police orders?  No.  Do they try to stop the thousands of annual black on black murders?  No.  Do they help blacks to escape poverty?  No.

All lives, including black lives, matter to TEA Partiers because we know that policies that hurt some Americans can be re-directed at others, and right now we are hated by Washington leaders and special interests everywhere.  We work for things that enable all Americans to be free, safe, and successful; things like school choice, stable families, increasing economic freedom to create good jobs, opportunities, and wealth, the rule of law applied equally to all, and the limited government defined by the US Constitution which exists to protect the rights of the American people.

Where do the “Black Lives Matter” protest leaders, President Obama, most “progressive” politicians, Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson, etc. stand on issues that would make blacks (and all Americans) safer, freer, and more successful?

In his op-ed on December 9, 2014 in the Laconia Daily Sun (laconiadailysun.com) E. Scott Cracraft says one correct and important thing, “a “right” ends where the rights of others begin”.  Nevertheless, most of the rest of his op-ed, e.g., the stuff about snake handlers, attempts to convince readers that it is OK for Obamacare to violate employer Religious rights by forcing employers to pay for abortion inducing drugs.  Fortunately the Supreme Court did not agree.

Obamacare doesn’t require employers to provide health insurance except under certain conditions.  And, employers meeting those conditions can choose to pay a fine/tax instead.  The fine, however, significantly increases the cost of lower wage employees which encourages automation and/or job consolidation to eliminate jobs, e.g., McDonalds is investigating self-service kiosks to eliminate jobs.

Many businesses cannot absorb the large increase in health insurance cost caused by Obamacare even by raising the prices of their goods or services, so they are forced to take actions that hurt workers (thus Obamacare actually rewards businesses that take steps that hurt workers).

Washington Democrats and Republicans just passed a budget that rewards the special interests at the expense of the American people.  Senators Ayotte and Shaheen and Congresswoman Kuster voted for the special interests.  Congresswoman Shea-Porter voted for the people over the special interests.

The budget was created by the political party establishments, including President Obama, Speaker Boehner, and Majority Leader Reid, and special interest groups.  The 1600 plus page document is heavy with pork, favors for supporters, and support for wasteful, ineffective, and unpopular programs.

In an unbelievable act of betrayal of the American people, this budget puts taxpayers back on the hook for potentially trillions of dollars of losses incurred by the big banks.  Congress repealed the Dodd-Frank provision that prevented banks from gambling with taxpayer insured money, a factor in the 2008 financial meltdown.

This budget deal denied the recently elected Senators and Congressmen the opportunity to start fixing the problems, created by current and previous Congresses, that the voters sent them to address.
