The children’s picture book “Sylvia and Marsha Start a Revolution!” by Joy Michael Ellison, self-proclaimed “queer and non-binary trans writer”, makes heroes of “trans women of color” and promotes the bizarre belief that people can change sex. I found it on the Pride display in the children’s room in the Nashua Library last June.
Recently, the New Hampshire Senate voted to pass HB619 to ban genital gender reassignment surgeries for kids. The bill will soon be on Gov. Chris Sununu’s desk. This is a common-sense bill that was supported by virtually all Republicans in the NH House, two independents, and 11 Democrat state representatives including progressive Democrat Jonah Wheeler of Keene.
Wednesday, the NH Senate Judiciary Committee met to vote on HB619, which would ban genital sex reassignment surgery for kids. Sen. Cindy Rosenwald and Sen. Shannon Chandley pushed back against the bill. Sen. Chandley said, “We as legislators should not be engaging in the legislation of the practice of medicine.”
This week you will have four opportunities to help pass bills to protect New Hampshire women and children from the serious abuses of the trans cult.
On April 17, I testified to the NH Senate HHS Committee in favor of Rep. Jim Kofalt’s bill HB1660 which would ban using Medicaid to pay for gender reassignment surgery for kids. Rep. Kofalt and I were the only two to testify in favor of the bill. Not forcing taxpayers to fund irreversible surgeries for gender-confused kids is the least the NH legislature can do to protect children.
Republican NH Senator Sharon Carson is the prime sponsor for bill SB422. Originally the bill would have replaced all instances of “mother” and “father” in birth records with “birth parent” and “non-birth parent.” I wrote about that here and her constituents contacted her and she realized there isn’t support for that.
Bills to protect women and children from the trans cult are advancing in the New Hampshire House and Senate and the trans rights activists (TRAs) are desperate.
For at least two years, the Nashua Library has displayed the book “What Was Stonewall?” in the children’s room during June. This book is about the history of the treatment of lesbians and gay men in the US, and it is for children ages 8 to 12.
NH Senator Kevin Avard filed bill SB304 to create a cause of action for medical injuries resulting from medical gender transition. In June last year, I found the book “Pride Colors” by Robin Stevenson on the Pride display in the Nashua Library children’s room. It’s a board book so it’s made for babies and toddlers. It has bright colors and adorable pictures of children. The book promotes Pride celebrations as wholesome affairs.
In March of 2023, I was part of a group of Republicans in Nashua Ward 7 that organized to hand out fliers promoting Education Freedom Accounts (EFAs) to our local public elementary schools, Dr. Crisp and Sunset Heights. Dr. Crisp has been recognized as one of the lowest-performing five percent of all schools in the state for the second year in a row.
Bill SB567 was introduced in New Hampshire in January which supports coerced abortions via the abortion pill. It is sponsored by all ten NH Democrat state senators.
